Default Verfolger 28 Depron Combat Prototype

Welcome to my first Lipo Pilot designed aircraft post.

I would like to share my build and completion of a plane I designed called the "Verfolger 28" Thats german for Pursuer.

My concept for this plane came from many ideas off of many planes. I wanted to design my version of a boom tail combat plane mixed with some bomber and ground attack features from many of the planes I love. I was also inspired by a member here, that has a P-38 I liked, and it also inspired my design, because when I asked him for details on his plane..he never answered me. I just wanted one is all...but I hate being ignored, so I made my own and thats how I do it.

I plan to shoot videos of the plane tomarrow, as all my test flights have been alone and not filming "My no shame before it's a plane therory". Now i know she flies, its time to show her peformance as a aircraft.

Heres some photos of prototype #1. This is the single engine design, and I also have a twin Im building right now.

All logo'd up with the 316 Squadron Iron Cross...ready for combat

I would like to plug a company which i'm sure most have had good experience with and I have had the same. The Verfolger 28 is 100% Heads Up R/C, except for the foam and lipo used. And Chellie and smokejohnson thanks for leading me to them. Jeff of Heads Up R/C...great people, and a great store. Jeff thanks man for the power and the all the goodies I purchased for my prototype planes. Your suggestion for the power on this Verfogler 28..man she fast lol www.headsuprc.com

Heres alittle of the build. The construction of the Verfolger is a simple CF chassis covered with 6mm depron. I used both 6mm depron and Carbon Fiber square and round stock.

Some more of the build and changes.

My first design had a shark fin on cockpit and no under wing fuses on wing. After the first test flight, I chopped the shark fin down and added fuses to wings.

The plane is a blast, Is it me or is the video player here cutting half of the video off? What causes this?

I watched your video and see it is a 2822. I was wondering what kind of mount you are using. I haven't been able to find anything other than the mount that comes with it. It doesn't look like you are using the supplied mount.

Hi Larry,

Smoke is right it's a 10mm Jeff mount and they work well on pretty much any plane. All of the electronics on this bird come from Heads Up. Great place to shop.

It's still on the shelf waiting for the test flight after I made the mods. I've got to get a suitable battery too. I am going to wait for a perfect day considering the problems involved.

The EDF I am using pulls about 55 amps at WOT. I had a couple of 2500ma 3s lipos that died after less than 1 hr (not in this plane). They were cheapies I got off ebay. The 2500ma 3s fit very well in the fuse.

Here are the EDF specs:

EDF Fan Unit 53mm / 5300kv / 680g thrust w/ Motor
Motor Type: 2409H-7T Delta Turn
Outer Dimensions: 62 x 71mm
Shaft: 3.175mm
Weight: 71g
kv: 5300rpm/v
Fan Diameter: 53.5mm
Voltage: 14.8v (4s)
Current: 57A
Thrust: 680g+
Power: 840W

Probably need 4s battery instead. The Planes AUW is 710g little over 1.5lb. You would know more about suitable battery than me.
