^I believe that's something Arizona or California never sees. I think the technical term for it is "snow".

Yes , it's snow. I guess that why Canadian pilots were sent to the south pole for a rescue mission...................in a Canadian built Twin Otter !

Great plane, skis and flying! I love that kind of smooth, scale park flying.

Thanks rudderfeet. Thatís exactly what I enjoy so much about this plane. If I want to go fast or be aerobatic I'll fly another plane, but this plane is a ton of fun for relaxed flying!

Btw I also liked the flap modification video. You should record a series of those!

Thumbs up Ailerons but, no Flaps!

I hope everyone had a Delightful Thanksgiving in these threads!

Up to now, I have not had the need for Flaps on this model and it Slows down very adaquately for picture perfect landings. Even slower with Slight UP elevator and 1/5 throttle in a slight high alpha attitude and she lands like a baby doll.

I had a wonderful morning at my RC Club close to my work during Thanksgiving morning (@Moon Port Modelers RC) and it was nice and warm and completely DEAD CALM all morning and stayed for over 5 hours!

The best weather conditions in Central Florida that I can recall in a long time Took a few pictures of my modified Hobby Zone Super Cub with Ailerons and Brushless Outrunner (BP A2217/9)!

Gohmer,

I will check to see on my Digital scale tonight.

I would say that it is at least the same as the Stock Hobby Zone Super Cub with the heavy Brushed 480 (long can) Brushed Motor + gearbox because I covered the model with the ORACAL intermediate 651 Adhesive Mylar Film and I am using the heavier 3-Cell, 2200mAH, 25C, Li-POLYs for performance.

Speaking of performance, here is the spec's on the BP Hobbies A2217/9 Brushless Motor:
http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id...7&pid=B2632605

I will perform a weigh-in party and will post the results tonight.

Carlos

Thanks, Carlos

I made a determined effort with the modifications of mine to keep it under twenty ounces AUW so it could be flown in the Metrodome. It turned out to be 20.9 which the supervisor of the day said was close enough

Thumbs up Weigh-In of my Brushless Super Cub!

Here is the Fully Flight Ready weigh-in of my #2 Super Cub with Brushless power system and using generic 3-Cell, 2200mAH, 25C, Li-POLYs.

30 1/4 oz. "or" 30.25 oz. is the fully flight ready weight

and without the battery

30.25 - 6.125 = 24.125 oz. or 24 1/8 oz.

Nope, we have an indoor Fun Fly once a year in Central Florida and the Super Cub is just too big for the rather small Cocoa EXPO enclosure and not to mention the speed.

Event posting for this year is at:<----Seems like a FREE FLIGHT ONLY this Year

I am sure your Metrodome is very spacious inside compared to our little shack.
