Banana Hobby...NEVER AGAIN!!

So I ordered two planes...two separate orders from Banana Hobby.com on the 10th of this month. I paid an additional $36.00 for 3-day shipping when I ordered the F-35. The site says that orders usually ship between 2-3 days of the order. My Phantom shipped first, and I called to see when my F-35 would ship. The lady in customer service said it would be shipping tomorrow (keep in mind that I made that call on the 12th)! Well I got my phantom yesterday, but no F-35....soooo, I called them this morning and was told that it wouldn't ship until tomorrow!!!!! That's just great!! Now, I will be at the airport on Wednesday morning on my way back to Iraq for another 8 months...my plane will arrive the day I leave!

After I had placed the order and paid for 3-day shipping, I get an e-mail from them saying my plane will ship between 4-7 days!! This is what you get AFTER you place your order, that says 2-3 days it will ship! So come to find out, I was told that my plane was shipped almost 4 days ago, just to ease my nerves...I guess. I don't know for sure. But I don't appreciate being lied to and I'm damn sure not a fan of false advertisement. I called them and told them that this would be the LAST time they get my business. Thanks alot Banana Hobby! But hey...if I die in Iraq I'll have my wife donate my F-35 to Wattflyer...you can rest assured it's still in the box and never flown!!

Don't hold back Mike...tell us how you really feel about the transaction . That is bull though, at a minimum good customer service should include not lying to your customers.

Lots of complaints about that outfit (there attitude seems to be "Banana oil to you, you big t..d.").

Before you leave, file a complaint in its home state with the attorney general for deceptive OR unfair trade practices-intent is irrelevant!

He's in the 66th Transportation Co. It's been a bit since we've talked and I can't remember where he's based now... IIRC he's not too far from Baghdad.

I've heard of it, but never been. Next time you talk to him, ask him what FOB he's based out of. I'm based out of Q-West, not too far from Diamondback and Marez (both fobs).

sounds like they are selling products they don't have on the shelf to send out! Not good business. I haven't bought from them and it looks like I wont either!

Thanks Dave...just did it!! I did a search on banana hobby over on RCG and all kinds of negative threads came up. Did you know that they had 10 BBB complaints on them last month ALONE!! I'm obviously not the only guy with crappy customer service.

Maybe they should change their name to "Manana Hobbies". seems appropriate. On the same note, I placed an order with another on line hobby store for a DX6i about three weeks ago. They listed it as BO at the time of order ..so I cant be too upset. At the same time I placed an order for and EDF combo 70mm fan &motor. Was told I should have recieved it last Friday. Not here yet...
Is this some form of epidemic with low stock, foriegn suppliers, shipping backlog or what.

Well Pete's reason for all the crappy service is, "they moved". I don't care what you did...why should I have to pay for it with piss poor customer service? I could understand if they were under new management or something, but come on!

Did you get a tracking number or do you have to beg for one like I had to?

In addition to the above two issues, EDF fan combo and DX6i , I have been trying to get customer service to replace faulty 70mm fan (wont mention any names but it was a bad spinner that lunched the fan at break in process) I finally received a reply by email that "someone" would contact me within two days. 5 days later I resent the original email along with the reply that "someone would contact me within two days" attached. Three days later received an email that someone would contact me within....Yup! two days!! ROFLMAO!!
