Default Afterburners simulated edf exhaust light kit

These are close to being available, beta testors are lined up so I thought you guys would like to see something that will blow away the concept of edf afterburner lights. Warning! These are bright enough to wash out the colors on video! Afterburners simulate the color shift of fire and can be used in ducted fan or pusher prop applications.

Because of the extreme brightness, the colors don't show up as well on video. the start with Blue on the innermost area, followed by white, then yellow and finally red toward the back edge. They duplicate the effect of real afterburners and can be chained together for twin applications too. These aren't some dinky little light kit, these are for the extreme shock factor.

Just a follow up, the SR-71 prototype kit is complete. There is a new module that allows you to hook up to 4s mainpower so no seperate power source is needed. They hook up to main power, plug into the throttle channel and parallel your edf's throttle input. Production kits available very soon. Send any inquiries via PM until my webpage and cart comes online.

Thanks guys....... this is a kit that I'm putting into production. The beta test stage is just starting. The Afterburners kits will be available in two versions. The short kit contains the afterburners lighting unit only, the user adds the final items needed for hookup depending on the application. Full instructions and needed parts list is provided to keep initial costs low.

The full kit will have the afterburners lighting unit plus the controller.

beta test prices are:

68-70mm fan size only
Short kit- $39
full kit- $52

Retail will likely be in the $75-$80 range, depending on options. I'm only offering a handful of these for beta testing, let me know for sure if you want to reserve a set. I'll be accepting paypal, send me a PM for the address.

Delivery should be within two weeks from the time you order.

Joe, PM me about beta testing. I've got a handful of EDF's to choose from.

CRAP, if I wasn't in the middle of setting up my vacation for next month I'd be sending you money right now.

How long will you be offering them for beta testing? If I have money left over in a month I might order one...

I will likely have a second round of beta tests on other sizes. This first one is for 70mm fans. Hit me up in a month and we'll see what's possible.

How many amps will these draw? Do I need a separate battery for them?

Each 70mm light kit consumes .6A at full throttle. Twins would be 1.2A max.
you could use a seperate small 3 cell pck if you want to, the full kit is designed to wire into your main power lead so no battery is needed.

The first beta run already shipped out, I'm going to offer a second round of 70mm kits for those that want to get a set. There are a few improvements incorporated but the beta test price remains the same. I'll only be keeping this round open for a few days and I'll only need a few testers.

Absolutely love it, Joe. Looks spectacular. If my health insurance premiums hadn't just gone up 21% (which makes them higher than my house note now ... lovely), I'd be all over the beta testing. Got 6 different 70mm jets, so hopefully some of these can find their way into at least one of them some day.

Good luck! And folks, I wanna see some videos of your beta testing fly-bys.
