Default New Forum Request - Pusher Park Jets

I'd like to request that a new forum be created for Pusher Park Jets, or at least maybe make it a sub-forum of RC Electric Ducted Fan Jets.

A pusher jet is defined as an aircraft, generally constructed of foam, that resembles a jet of some type (real or imagined) and is powered by a motor and prop in a pusher configuration, rather than an EDF unit. Some great examples are the kits from Yardbird RC, Nico Hobbies, and 6mmFlyRC.

There is a huge following for pusher jets on other forums, but they don't really seem to fit in anywhere here (they are not really EDFs, and could be scattered in categories like Parkflyers, Foamies, EDF Jets or Scale Planes).

Would it be possible to get a new forum going for these?

Thanks for considering this suggestion.

I'd like to second that you have to hunt all over the forums for info on these beautiful flying planes.

I have to agree also, You could take posts about the Funjet and Stryker plus MANY others and move them into this forum for a instant start. There are also plenty of mid motor designs that fall under pusher but it shouldn't be only about park jets. Anything that can be pushed by a prop should be fair game there.

I agree with Kosh, it could include any pusher prop driven airplane. The Easy Star, even Wiggy. I will bet Don can get this done soon.

I PM'd Don about it the day I posted the thread, but no response. I had even volunteered to be a Mod for the new forum. There are already tons of threads in the EDF section that could be moved over.

And I also agree that most pusher planes, be they actual jets or not, would be included. This would cover things like the Funjet, Stryker and other such planes. But I think stuff like the Wing Dragon, EasyStar, and pusher trainer type planes would still belong in either the Beginners or Parkflyer sections.

What do you say Don?

Sort of a high performance pusher plane forum?

Jim,

Yes, that's the idea. If the forum gets created and I'm made a Mod, then I'll put a sticky up to describe what the forum is about.

And technically, flying wings would also fit into the category sort of, but they already have their own forum. I'd like to keep this one strickly to jets and jet-like aircraft.

This would also include jets that are sold as EDF, but are converted into pushers. Examples would be the GWS A-4, J-10 and F-15. The are sold mostly as EDF, but GWS also has instructions to make them pushers, and I have seen several done like that.

Question

Thanks for the follow up this afternoon Pat.

Sorry gents lost track of this one in the shuffle. More opinions? Wasn't it a separate forum many moons ago?

Take care and thanks for posting at WattFlyer!!

Don,

Not sure if it was separate before or not. Maybe back then there just weren't enough pusher jets out there. But Steve Shumate seems to have started a revolution of sorts! There are now tons of them.

I would love to see this made into a seperate forum where we could all turn to find info on pusher jets. These and wings are turning into my favorites. Ready to subscribe.

Default Sounds Good To Me!

Hi Guys,
I'd be in favor of a separate Forum for this. It's way more popular than even a couple of years ago. Not my particular style of plane, but there's many flying here.

Most know me here as former Mod, I would NEVER give a forum my blessing if I didn't think it would work and help Wattflyer as a whole. You already have the built-in threads without stripping other forums and lots of hands on experts to help steer a new one.

Take a chance and try it out, I don't care who Mods it but its worth doing.

The consensus of the staff is to go for it, I'm waiting on more opinions from the members to see their thoughts on another forum.

Miss ya as a mod Kosh.

Sure ,, I 've done as many pusher jets as most any Wattflyer ( 7- I think (NOpe just remembered 2 others=9). And everytime I posted about em here had to make excuses such as " I know this isn't a real EDF jet" LOL And now that my son and I are building and flying the real deal you're gona make a seperate forum for "PROP" jets. I say BOUT TIME

THE B-2 Worlds most expensive airplane.

I'll tac on my vote. I own Three Pushers and would love a place to go to "browse" as opposed to using the search function.

Thanks

Jack,

If that F-22 will remain an EDF, then it should go in the current EDF section. If you are converting it to a pusher, then it will go in the new forum.
