Default DX6: disabling throttle for electric airplanes

I would like to freeze the throttle on my electric airplane by using the gear switch (so i can keep flying without current to the motor), or have my plane on the ground with the switch ON, without the chance of starting the motor by inadvertently moving the throttle stick.
1.-Is there a program to do so?
I know that i can use the flap switch for this, if i change to heli mode, but i need it for changing trim on climb and glide.
2.-If not, is there a program for using the throttle cut button for freezing the throttle?
(In this case, i would replace the button with a toggle switch)
This is a safety feature for electrics that i believe should be included in all the radios, just as the throttle cut for engines (IC) is included in the DX6 and DX6i.

The only easy way I can think of is using the throttle cut button. You generally have to set it up in the menus before it'll do anything at all, but once it's activated it will kill the throttle whenever it's held down. If you soldered in a new toggle switch it should do exactly what you're looking for.

Another possibility is to put the ESC on an auxiliary channel and mix that to throttle, so when the mix is turned on with your choice of switches, throttle signals make it to the ESC and when the mix is turned off there's no link between throttle movements and ESC response. You'll have to test this approach carefully, though, as there's a chance it'll want to go to half-throttle whenever the mix is turned off (since that's neutral for a servo, which is what would normally be connected).

If you use a mix to run the ESC on another channel, you will also lose the throttle failsafe
