Setting the throttle range is very easy to do with your transmitter: 1. Connect the ESC to a motor and receiver. DO NOT connect a battery yet. 2. Turn on your transmitter. Move the throttle stick to the full power position (all the way up). 3. Connect the ESC to a battery. You will hear a tone and two beeps. Immediately after the two beeps, move the throttle stick to the off position. 4. Disconnect the battery from the ESC. Now the ESC is ready to use with your transmitter. I hope this is helpful, even if you have not purchased your ESC from us

Jeff,
I have a Mag 8 18 Amp ESC I bought from you. I have not flown with it yet, but I did some power up testing and initially the ESC was not happy. I don't remember if it was beeping or not. It finally allowed to motor to arm after I set the throttle trim all the way down. Maybe I just learned a bad throttle range. Does the ESC always learn the throttle range by plugging into the battery while the radio throttle is set to full power? Even if it learned something before? I hope so. The ESC is actually going to be used with a different radio and receiver that the one I have used on it so far. Steve |

Thanks again Jeff for clearing this up!
The motor/ esc combo was the ticket for my Delta Wing! Your new improved instructions are a sinch and I was able to get it working on the first try! Thanks. |

Thanks Jeff, that's what I wanted to hear. Are the complete ESC instructions available on your web site? I couldn't find any. The ones that came with the ESC are good, just missing the throttle learn stuff. I always like to keep a complete set of instructions filed away. The winters are too long up here in MI and then I forget everything!

Thanks, Chellie!
I'm not sure why I didn't think to goto the TowerPro site for the ESC instructions. I always like printed instructions to take with me while flying. (Just in case of the Brain Fades! )Steve |
