Hi, there are no plans on this SR71 jet, as it was a one time thing, but it was a fun learning experience

Sounds like a dream of mine, but I have been retired since '94 and have not made any progress on the same dream. Better Luck to you.

Gets to be a small world. Love to travel, Love our country. My grandson is a Tenn. Trooper, now assigned to the FBI Home Land security unit of Tnn.
I flew the KHP spy in the sky for about 10 years. Got my hearing. Always wanted to fly for the airliner, or corp. Never made it. I was hired by the Alaska State Police, would have been the first class after state hood. Had to turn that down also. Why??
Broke, two children, had to report in Mar. 1959 in the middle of the winter.
Also, wife did not want to cook and run the jail.
Loads of fun
Now flying RC. Loads of fun also. Thank you for you help. I am looking at the F-4
Phantom for a build. Wonder if I can put a Duct Fan in that plane. The one from 6mm.

WHAT FOAM would you suggest for a build. Remember out here in Kansas, FLY OVER COUNTRY, we only have Home Depot and Lowes, plus a few home town lumber yards. Even with all that the closest is about 40 miles from me.

Also
would you go with 6 mm or 9 mm foam. ?? Did find some great looking and very strong foam today. From the Wichita, Ks. area. Lost the name for now. But the problem is it measures out at about 13 mm. Assume way to much weight.

If you got deep pockets full of coins, order whatever you want off the Internet hobby shops and specialty stores. If you are less enriched like the vast majority of us, use whatever is available locally. At least that way you can get around the shipping costs, which are a bit much these days. I buy the 1/4" thick fan fold foam (FFF) sold as floor underlayment at Home Depot. There is also the thicker wall insulation stuff, 1/2" and 3/4", also available at many of the home improvement warehouse stores ($10-$14). The FFF comes as a 4'x50 sheet folded into 2'x4' panels ($38-$42). I also use the thicker insulation board when I need thicker foam for stress management and unique RC flyer projects. They are ususally the bigger ones that start at 44" wing spans and go much larger if desired. The FFF is good for park flyers up to 42" wing spans, but you can also do a few of the larger indoor models. FFF is very popular.
