This forum has lots and lots of plans.

I used the "search this forum" link to search for "bipe" and "crop duster", and found these:

I'm sure there are more.

Default Profile or Full Fuse?

Gofer, Like yourself, I'm crazy about crop dusters (My all time favorite, the Grumman Ag-Cat). Are you wanting profile or full fuselage builds? I'm almost finished a profile Turbine Ag-Cat made from dollar tree foam board. It has a 50 inch wingspan (upper), KF wing panels (50% step on top), and bar b que skewers for my cabane, and "N" struts. All that's left is the power system, and receiver (servos are in place). One additional thing that I want to add though, is flying and ground wires (I will probably use fishing string for this). I don't have pics as of yet, but it looks (in my opinion anyway), remarkably scale for a profile plane. Iiiiiffff it flies, I'll give it a paint and detail job later. All I did was scan a three view drawing, and use a program (I don't recall for the life of me what it's called, and I'm away from home for a few days) to scale and tile the drawings. I've used alot of techniques I acquired from watching LipoPilot.com and Mikeysrc.com . It is a bit heavier than what most folks building profile foamies might be used to, but I really wanted sturdy and big. I'm hoping to possibly have a maiden within the next month or so. Chris P.S. Sorry for bumping this everybody, I am a sucker for Ag-Planes, so I couldn't resist!

Chrisvon & kenchiroalpha:
There has been nothing as truly exciting as watching a crop duster doing those close in low to the ground maneuvers! I am 57 and would not qualify for a pilots license so RC is my next best thing. I have been drooling over a Pawnee 25 from hanger 9 and will have to just save pennies for a long time. I do have a set of plans for a foamy that is not real big just have not had the time to get to using up the 6 sheets of blue FF I have. Chris I would like to see some pics and a video on youtube some time! That sounds like a great build I would consider building it this winter when the snow and winds howl !
Ken my wife works for a local chiropractor he is int RC truck racing what a shame! I almost went and got the Agri duck and had a chance last year to get a mud duck. After seeing them fly in person even though I am soloing next week for nitro planes at a club I have been flying park fliers for about a year. The Mud Duck series is a very slow flying plane and I dont think it would be doing a flight like a duster would be able to do maneuvers (IMHO only) Call me crazy but crop dusters are more exciting to me than jets on high and fast acrobatics.
Thanks all for your responses!
Larry

Default Agri-Duck Characteristics

The Agri-Duck 110" (in the video linked below) is not terribly aerobatic but it can swing itself around a little as long as it doesn't get inverted.

http://mudduckaviation.com/video/Cro...0Agri-Duck.wmv

But as you can see, if you build a scaled down version they are much more aerobatic. This one is 33% scale (36" ws) and built from FFF (blue foam).

Hi Hank,

You may want to edit your last post with my original post "quoted" on some (or maybe all) computers the first video automatically starts playing. I didn't realize it was going to do that when I posted it originally and I went back and deleted the tags so it would stop doing it automatically, but you must still have the tags in your quote.

I can see this getting very annoying for people following this thread. Sorry for my original oversight guys

Greg

Mud duck Aviation:
I guess I will have to amend my opinion the 33% looks like it can really be a blast to fly! I started a air field at the local drag strip / road course and am calling it the " Flying Thunder" (midamericamotorplex.com) And have been looking at a plane that can pull a light weight banner for some advertising of the air field during racing events. I now see that there could be a way fopr the agri duck both large and the 33% to be put to use! Is there a set of plans available for the 33% ?

Hank the first link keeps giving me a 404 error and the second site is awesome! It is tempting to use a bit of savings to get the plans but for now the money saved up will go on house taxes oldest son had some lawyer costs in his divorce that we "helped out with" So my hobby money will have to wait for income tax return time if possible! Just my luck money disappears just when you think you might be able to get a new rc something!!! I am still hoping to get the owner of the facility I work for as the friday night announcer at the drag strip to sponsor a plane for next season!

I can scale the plans to any size anyone wants. My standard sizes are the Big one (110") and the A-D "Sport" (83") but I scaled down the Sport set and hand edited the manual for the 33% version upon request. Dave Surace, who built the one in the video, decided to make the wing one piece at that scale rather than the original 2-wing panels; a very simple change to do.

Let me know if you want to play with making a 33% with your stockpile of blue foam then you may look into the 110" later on down the road. Just shoot me an email mudduck@optonline.net.

The following is a video of a Mud Duck Sport (81" high wing) towing a glider. This was the plane built for the Fly R/C magazine review:
and w/o the glider:

Mud Duck
that was a great 2 video's I have only seen a Mud Duck once and it did not fly at the Omahawks Labor Day air show last year. I do have a motrolfly electric motor brand new for a project that has not happened yet it is the equivalent of a nitro .40 so that might be a god start !!!!

Hank that was some very awesome videos of the Estar crop duster I am impressed I have never built a plane like that yet only a couple of foamy's and repaired a Kadet LT 40 from some one else s crash got it for 5 bucks at a auction. Got it now so it flies hands off . The purple porker I crashed when on the re-maiden a control rod for the elevator disconnected itself that was a education in pre flight !!!!
