Default FMA Direct announces new business model with lower pricing

FMA is pleased to announce the launch of a new business model designed with the consumer in mind.

Copied below for easy access is a list of questions and answers that was listed in a separate thread:



Question: Does FMA plan to reduce staff under the new model?

Answer: No. FMA will still be maintaining the same personnel. Duties may change slightly, but we will still be providing sales, service and support with the same FMA staff members.


Question: Will customers with existing orders get the discounted price?

Answer: All orders placed through the old FMA Direct site will be filled by FMA and shipped from Maryland. Those orders will be subject to a refund if the cost under the new model plus the normal UPS Saver shipping charge from Singapore is less than what the customer paid directly from FMA. As SteveM732 pointed out, with the PL8 most people ordered with a discount, so that price plus normal UPS Ground shipping within the states is actually less than the new price plus shipping from Singapore.


Question: Will the parallel adapters that are on pre-order be filled before August 20 (the date which appears on the new Revo site)?

Answer: Yes. Those adapters should be shipping to FMA late this week or early next. We will fill all existing orders that came in before today from FMA in Maryland.


Question: Will FMA be re-selling products through the LHS?

Answer: Yes. That is a big part of the new business model. We have nice wholesale margins available on all the products. Although FMA has been dealing with a small number of hobby dealers over the past year or so, this part of the market is one we hope to capitalize on under the new model.


Question: Will service and support still continue at FMA in the states?

Answer: Yes. Again, this is a major facet of the new model. FMA will support all warranty, service and support from Maryland for all North and South American customers. Leo Industries will offer support for all other locations. We feel that this is a key to the success of our new venture. Sales, support phones and e-mails are still in service at FMA Direct.


Question: Transit time from Singapore?

Answer: We have negotiated very good rates through UPS in Singapore and will be using UPS Saver for most shipments. This is a 3 day service from Singapore to the U.S. assuming customs clearance doesn’t hold things up.

:-/ I hope quality doesn't suffer. You guys make the best chargers on the market. I'm the local electric GURU at my club (of 50+ guys) and the only chargers I support (troubleshooting, training, recommendations) are FMA cellpro line.

I wanna be a pirate. Arrrrr

This will be good if the three day UPS support stands up. It's good to know that US support is still available.
