I don't know anything about Quanum, but I'm buying the Eagle Tree OSD Pro in a few more days... My theory is that you could buy the Eagle Tree OSD (not the PRO version), and hook that up to a transmitter with the Eagle Tree Data Logger -- for about $100, you'd have everything you'd ever want.

Hitec Aurora can not possibly be less expensive than the Eagle Tree system I'm talking about. I'm at dinner right now, but I'll run the numbers when I get home...

The Hitec web site says the least expensive Aurora 9 option is:
Stock #191244 - 2.4GHz Transmitter & 7ch Receiver Only Version Transmitter and Optima 7 7channel 2.4GHz Receiver, with Rechargeable Transmitter Batteries and AC Charger (no RX Battery) ESP $429.99 Then, you have to pay extra for the telemetry products (though I'm not sure of the price) Available Telemetry Products: Stock# 55830: Full Telemetry Pack Includes Sensor Station, two RPM Sensors (O&M),four Temp. Sensors, GPS and Fuel Sensor Stock# 55831: Basic Telemetry Pack w/Optical RPM Sensor Includes Sensor Station, O-RPM Sensor & two Temp. Sensors Stock# 55845: Basic Telemetry Pack w/Magnetic RPM Sensor Includes Sensor Station, M-RPM Sensor & two Temp. Sensors Stock# 55832: Sensor Station HTS-SS 2.4GHz Stock# 55833: Optical RPM Sensor HTS-ORPM Stock# 55842: Magnetic RPM Sensor HTS-MRPM Stock# 55834: Temperature Sensor HTS-TEMP Stock# 55835: Fuel Level Sensor HTS-FUEL Stock# 55836: GPS Sensor HTS-GPS On the other hand, the Eagle Tree OSD Text system will cost a total of: OSD Pkg w 100A eLogger/Integrated Connectors (OSDSTD-PKG-CN2) $194.97 Then you'd have to get a transmitter to send the information down to the ground -- you can get a wireless video camera (2.4GHZ) on Hobby City for about $60. Hook up the video to any monitor (or record directly to a video tape recorder), and you've got a complete telemetry system for about $250 (as opposed to $430 for the Hitec system). The Eagle Tree system will send Volts, Amps, Watts, and mAh used at that price. For a little extra, you can monitor all kinds of other things (like temperature, RPM, altitude, airspeed, ground speed, GPS coordinates, servo current, and throttle setting. Honestly, the Eagle Tree system is the better deal -- and gives you the opportunity to expand later. ![]() No -- I don't work for Eagle Tree, nor am I affiliated with them in any way. I just own an Eagle Tree eLogger with GPS (and soon to own an OSD PRO), and I've been happy with it for several years.

Please reread the OP "anyone know of a good basic telemetry system WITH an voltage alarm feature besides the one from quanum (because i cant seem to find any!) preferably 2.4Ghz " The Hitec system does includes the voltage alarm system as a standard feature and it does not require the other add-ons, nor an Aurora TX. Price Comparison e.g. 2 x Optima 6 Receiver and HMA-24FI Module Combo $114.99 2 x Optima 7 Receivers and HMA-24FI Module Combo $129.99 The Spectra Pro Module and Optima Transceivers are can be readily updated by user with each firmware upgrade. Further facilities are due out shortly. regards Alan T. |

You don't have to hook up the camera at all. I'm only suggesting you buy the camera to get the TRANSMITTER and RECEIVER to get the data from the airplane to the ground. You can always hook up the camera later (if you feel like it), but it is not required in the system I'm suggesting. @Alan (A.T.) -- I guess I'm missing something then. If you buy the $114.99 deal, it looks like you get two Hitec Optima 6 receivers, and something called a "HMA-24FI" (I don't know what that is) -- only two "gadgets". In order to make this work, he's going to need a transmitter, receiver, telemetry transmitter, and something to measure the data (like a voltage meter, current meter, watt meter, etcetera) -- that's at least four "gadgets". How can the telemetry system work with only two "gadgets"? |

for the base system : well ya thats true i guess
for the camera idea : how would i get the transmitter out of the camera to use? and i think it incorporates those four "gadgets" as you call them into the receiver and the additional module |

![]() (Normally, the Eagle Tree OSD Text system would be installed between the camera and the transmitter.
