I have a few suggestions though, which would make this program even better than it already is (I'm using it on Windows).

Firstly, on Vista it seems to need admin rights to convert from MP3 to Wav... May I suggest either changing this if you can, or at least adding some text or popup that explains that this needs admin rights... Had me confused for a little bit.

Secondly, please add the ability to select the units you are measuring in... In Australia we use Kph rather than Mph, so I have to convert the result after getting the reading. Same goes for C* and F*... Although I use celcius, I bet the Americans would love to have farenheit.

Lastly, more compatible audio formats would also be good, but even better would be the ability to select a video file and have the software just play the audio, which removes the need for the user to convert it themselves. I'm not sure on how difficult this would be to impliment, particularly for those odd formats, but it would be great to be able to do this with .avi files at the least.

Yes, having support for Fahrenheit and KPH will definitely be in the next PC version, KPH is already in the android one

That is interesting that vista required admin rights to do the mp3 conversion; I normally turn off user account control, so I'd never know it happened! I'll see if I can figure out why..

Regarding different file formats, I agree with .avi, probably .wma as well, and I also am trying to figure out if theres a way that you could just pass a link to a youtube video, and the program would automatically grab the sound clip from youtube rather than making you use dirpy.

Also, does height above sea level have a significant effect on the reading? If it does, it would be nice to be able to dial that into the program as well, for those of us who don't live at sea level.

That's probably something I need to look into, thanks. I'll probably have it like temperature where the GPS will detect your altitude for you, and you can manually input it if your GPS isnt working or you are dopplering a video.

I've finally put the finishing touches on a new version of the PC app. I've found a way to make it compatible with pretty much any sound or video format that you can play in windows media player - that is avi, wma, wmv, divx - almost anything! You can download the new version of the PC app from www.rcspeedo.info

Also, as requested by a couple of people on this forum, I'm going to go ahead and start working on an iPhone app version. As I've never done development on the iPhone platform, this one may be around two months out. I'll keep you updated though.

Haha yeah it should work on the iTouch as well; though a word of warning: I think it will only work on the 3rd generation or better. Looking at the specs for the hardware on those devices I suspect gen 2 is too slow.

Is it listed in the droid market? I know I'd pay a little bit of $$ just to get it to install painlessly but I'm gonna give the install a try.

LOL no worries sir - that's what I do on a daily basis - Our software relies on the JRE so we send a lot of clients right to that link.

Actually got it to get a few good readings on a friends glow powered plane this past weekend. It was not your typical glow plane though. A Viper with clipped wings and running an OS .32 with a tuned pipe makes quite a bit more noise than the average glow plane. I got it at 126.4 mph on one pass but it was just a little on the rich side. On the next flight he leaned the carb a little and I got it at 130.2 mph. This plane has been radared in the past at 125-130 so I feel pretty sure that these were fairly accurate readings. In order to get a reading though it had to be a really close pass...almost too close.

I can see it on AppBrain, but the market link fails, and searching for the app on market results in not found.

I honestly don't have a huge need for it yet (sure my Firebird isn't going that fast, nor my mini super cub) but wanted to purchase to support a fellow Wattflyer.
