By the way, this is just a $15 kit. There is a very long thread on RCG's, that was very helpful. |

Looks good Brett. Did you add any dihedral or curve the tips up? Did you seal the balsa with anything?

No dihedral, and no to the curved tips. I did use two coats of Polycote lightly sanding with 400 grit sandpaper in-between. I shortend all of the wires to the length needed. I saved all of the weight that I could, because I knew that I was going to use the 3cell 500 size pack. Recomended pack size is the 3cell 360, or the 2 cell 480.

Oh, yeah. One of my most-flown planes, and always a kick. You might want to consider more color contrast between top and bottom - you need to be able to tell in a flash which way is up. This plane gets small in a hurry. Good luck with yours.

I meant to do that! Anyway, I can fix it.

Thanks Tom! I Think I will add a few more stripes to the bottom. I like the fact that it's one of your most flown planes. It's nice when you find a plane that's a blast to fly, and cheap!

I had 2 of these and they are a great little plane. You can build one from scratch in 2 evenings. I lost one to a RX lock up. I am guessing that it was doing 70+ when it hit the pavement. Not much left on that one!

Hey Johnson,
The one I crashed was using the Emax CF2805 from Hobby King. The other is using a 10 gram outrunner motor from HK also. I did try a small inrunner but it just got to hot. I think that I may have gotten a bad motor. Any who, the CF2805 made the plane very fast. Not as fast as my hot roded Styker but fast for such a small target. |

I have a Medusa 12mm inrunner on mine. It's either 4100 or 4300 Kv, can't remember which. That motor is a real screamer - it runs fine with a 3x3 GWS prop and 3s lipo. I had an Electrifly Ammo of the same size and Kv in there and burned it up in one flight. The Medusa just keeps going. Forever I hope - you can't get them any more.
The Medusa does get a bit hot but nowhere near as hot as the Ammo did! |

I'm going to try an outrunner first. I should be able to get mine going this weekend.

Flew the rush. Yep it's fast enough for such a small target. I am pleased with the way it flys. This one will be the hanger for a good long time.

That's good to hear Brett. Mine will be ready this weekend. I've been building it and the LiddleRod at the same time so it's taking a little longer than it should.

Flies great but Scott's is faster. I am going to build another with 6 gr servos and the faster motor. I also like the arrow shaft mount.

I have had one for a couple years now. It's my favorite airplane! I have a feigao 5600kv, a 3x3 prop, but I use 500mah 2S batteries. It's plenty fast on that set up. Motocalc says it would smoke my 6amp speed control if I went to 3S; I like flying it so much I just don't want to mess it up.

Does anyone else want another AR? Kenny is talking about ordering another 6. Along with some other stuff I want we will probably get the free shipping so the cost would be $18.
