Talking COX Christen Eagle

Hi does anyone have experience with the COX Christen Eagle?

(It looks awesome)

I was thinking of it for a good ARF sport plane... Looks as though everything comes with it except the Radio. I was thinking getting this and hooking it up to a DX 6?

Here is the link

http://www.coxmodels.com/prodinfo.asp?number=006400

thanks!!

I foud a great report on it on RCUniverse... I dont have the link on me but it got great reviews. I think the plane just came out. It even has a steerable tailwheel. Comes with a brushless motor and everything.

If I come across the link again i'll post it on here. It pretty much told me everything I need to know..

except how to convince the wife that I need another airplane, any threads on that?

You guys just need to go into the LHS, throw your wallet and credit cards on the counter and tell them what all you need.

Thats another fine idea Grasshopper i'm sure they would go for it.

Maybe ill just ge a Credit Card for only RC planes/helicopters, im sure the wife will love that.

Did you check out the link on the Christen Eagle? If I buy that kit and a DX6 that should be everything I need to get it in the air? Cause the DX6 comes with the servos?

Comes with brushless motor, ESC and batt. All you need is the radio. I have the DX6 in mine since the middle of last summer. Flies not bad. I think they have a video and revue on RC Groups.

No, that's not it. The Christen I want is a RTF complete with motor, etc. that actually work. The ones I've seen fly like a fuel plane.

The Cox Cristen Eagle that I have comes with a brushless motor. ESC and batt. and is about RTF as you can get.Put the radio in it and go. I have a Herr Pitts with a 12 OS glow in it, about the same size and they both fly about the same except the Cox is capable of flying slower, but both have about the same top speed. What exactly are you looking for, one with the radio and all ?

Here is a shot of the one i just finished a couple of days ago. So far i have only had a chance to fly it 3 times but no problems, she flew good.

Made it out of Elmers Foam Board from plans i found on the net.

That's what I'm looking for, but where is the best price, including shipping. Some of these clowns actually think they can get $20 shipping charges. It cost a max. of $7 to ship UPS in this country and the rest is to pump up the profits. To me that's taking advantage of those that don't realize the actual costs and I never buy from greedy companies.

I had my local hobby shop order it so it didn't cost anything for shipping only the exchange on the dollar which was about 10% . After I flew mine, a few of the guys in the club ordered them, so it was a win,win for the hobby shop.

Flew my Cox Christen Eagle yesterday...Had a great time with it flying loops, rolls, a couple of hammerheads and split"s"...even managed a flat spin. Not enough power for much vertical action, though it does move along at a pretty good clip in level flight. To get big loops, it needs to start the loop in a dive to gain some extra momentum. Smaller loops can be made from level flight. It landed pretty hard but the gear took it well.

My first flight was in winds up to 15 mph. It was pretty stable despite the gusty conditions.

Overall, I think this will be one of my favorites for a while. With any luck I won't crash it while flying inverted or attempting a knife edge!

I am in N. Mich. N. of a little town called Rose City.
I fly in my yard, which i keep plowed during the winter.
It is surronded by Jackpine trees so i fly up over them and quite often one will grab my airplane and try to keep it.(just kidding)
I only fly elect. airplanes which i build from foamboard.
