Default Motor / ESC and various other newbie questions

I "moved" this myself from another area, hope thats OK with the admins.

First post on here, and first scratch built. I am in the process of building a Blu Baby 24 and i am a bit confused about the power plant for it. From what i have been reading they are suggesting the same motor / ESC / Battery setup that would be in the 33" or 4 larger version for the smaller 24" plane. Has anyone built the smaller 24 and could recommend something (or is it not overkill to use the setup from the larger models)? Here is what I am thinking of using for the setup, any comments or helpful tips? Also if anyone feels inclined, i have no RX / TX yet and no Lipo charger. I am thinking of the DX6i Microlite but am unsure about chargers. It seems i read great things about one, and then the next review is saying "this is the worst charger ever". Since I am a total newbie, im willing to take any advice you guys/gals can offer.

Would this setup work?

Thanks in advance,

Re-post in the "Power Systems" forum and I think you will get all your questions answered.

Default CrimzonRider

I am having problems with my Grayson hobby 50amp ESC 3amp BEC it is installed with a NeoDym 900kv-15 with a 10x6, rx is an ar500, tx is dx5e with a 11.1 35c 3700mah. I have 27 flights with the apprentice and motor gave out due to a couple hard crashes...so i bought a new motor and esc as described above,
tx on first, power up the plane and the esc beeps 3 times for the 3cell lipo, then it continues to beep 3x's 4 or 5 times and wont stop

Included with esc were instructions to enter programing mode, I have followed them to set the zero to 100% throttle throw, but when I power back up, just nothing but a continuous series of 3 beeps, same pitch again and again. I have search the web a bit, but to no success. thanx in advance if someone can help
