Design differents: The most noticeable different the new V05 come with the belt driven tail compare to V02 which have a shaft driven tail. For large heli a shaft driven tail will offer a more “direct”, and quicker feel for the rudder control as there are no flex or delay from the belt drive system. But the downside is as it require small 90degree gears so the power consumption will be higher and may require more maintenance. The V05 tail case was CNC from aluminum ber similar to larger 450 size heli. And the shape and design is similar to larger heli as well. Main rotor head I can’t really nice any different other then the head stopper on the V05 is slightly bigger. Both heli feature flybarless head. The blades are identical but with different graphic. Electronic the most noticeable different is the motor and ESC. The motor been replaced by new 12000kv outrunner motor. Which feel like it have a lot more torque compare to the old 11000kv motor. And the heli come with a 20A ESC which is able to handle 1 or 2S application. The stock battery is a much larger 850mah 20C battery. The weight been increase slightly due to the increase in aluminum parts from 73g (v120d02) to 78g (v120d05), both exclude battery and canopy. The battery is heavier too as it is much bigger, 15g (500mah) vs 25g (850mah). Even the canopy look much bigger on the D05 the heli is only 6-7mm longer than the D02. Flight impression: The most important different. Flight impression. Indoor flight they feel quite similar. Both quite stable for it’s size but the V05 feel lot more powerful, believe this should cause by the new more powerful motor and ESC. Outdoor flight as it is quite windy today. The V05 is best in this situation, the heli is extremely stable. It is still not as stable as the 450’s but much much better than any other mini walkera. I believe it is due to the weight different and the more powerful motor. And not sure if walkera change the software inside the 3 axis gyro it seems to work a lot better than pervious version. The correction is much faster. Conclusion: To be hornest I can’t find much I don’t like about this heli. The CNC work on the aluminum parts are much better than older walkera models. The heli response to stick input much better. The only thing I can think of are the main blades. It would be nice if it come with some nice carbon fiber blades. And for hard 3D you may prefer to have even more power. Since the ESC was designed to handle 2S already. 2S configuration maybe better for some hard 3D action. J |
