Default Something small with 2 wings and 4 channels?

Ok, all this 'Beast' this and 'Beast' that has gotten me jealous-

but my room's too small for anything that fast.

Yet I still yearn for a 4- channel bipe that will fly slowly and yet is playful.

Any suggestions? I'm DSM-2 enabled...

Thx!

well, unless you can 3d, not much will be able to fly in you room besides helis. If your crazy good, a vapor would as well.

Default oops, yeah-

Oh, the room I have to fly in's probably 100x160 with a 60' ceiling.

So not tiny, but not big enough for a PZ Su-26.

And if the 4-site will fly reasonably slow, I'm in. Reviews I saw made it seem
pretty fast.

thanks,
t

The 4-Site is sweet, but as brittle as egg shells. Be forewarned.

ah- thanks for the warning! It looks really neat- with the ability to do flaperons.

But I'm not very good at landing, yet....

If you are not good with landings you don't want the 4-site. You want the Champ.

Learn on it - then move on - the Champ rocks and will help you with landings. The 4-site is too fragile for "teaching".

Err- WHOSE champ? E-flite's has a 60" wingspan!

(ok, and I'm not THAT bad with landings... usually...)

I'm starting to like the J3 Cub now that I've added ailerons-
the problem being that the factory's version were just too small
for the SU-26 motor I stuck in it... a couple of 3/16" 'tabs' made a big difference.

thanks for all the ideas so far,

NP has a UM bipe. It's only 3ch, but is like 50$ plug n play.

oh... yeah, actually,
Learn on it - then move on
that's where I was with the PZ Cessna and the PZ UM J3-
then I added ailerons to a PZ Citabria, and went back to school.
It's been a great 4ch trainer with the dihedral removed.

Just finished the 4- ch J3 the same way, and it's actually lots of fun with an SU-26
motor and P51 prop clipped just a little. The P51 itself is a LOT of work to keep out of the
seats or off the ceiling- what I'm looking for is something with a lot of
wing area for its weight so I can slow down... and yet not die of boredom!

...and as I started off, what is it about a biplane that's so attractive? I don't get it...

... but I still want one!!!

Once again, thanks!!!

Just got my mitts on a flyzone Albatros- it's a bit rough, and maybe a little heavy for
as small as it is (read, fast) but I'm kinda excited to see how it does...

...then add ailerons!

Nothing RTF but Bob Selman Designs has a few bipes. I would have a hard time recommending one since I have not flown any of them.

Those look cool- Stevens Aero has some cute monoplanes that look neat, too.

I'm gonna play with the Albatros, then maybe make something out of a couple
of Citabria wings. They're big, and have a lot of lift.

Ditto the Micro Champ! It can crawl around the room, and is still zippy enough for loops, spins, hammer heads, inverted flight, etc.

I got one two weeks ago, and my other planes are just sitting around collecting dust.
I can walk out the front door and fly it right in the yard, or go up to the field and turn it loose. I've flown it in winds I'd never have attempted to fly my micro Citabria in.

Even take an occasional spin in the house with it, (open floor plan), my heli is getting jealous.

As for the Beast, if you have to have a 4 channel, your left stick is the throttle, it controls your birds speed. Just because it can go fast, doesn't mean it has to.

When I die, I want to go like my Grandfather did, in his sleep...... Not screaming like the passengers in his plane.
