Default Too windy...go fishing!

Well the wind around here has been relentless! If it's not windy, it's freezing and raining. So...I took the opportunity to do some fishing. With most days being overcast and windy, spinnerbaits were the obvious choice. For folks who don't fish all that much, an overcast day with wind is always the best time to throw spinnerbaits. Well, it's been working, lol.

Ya nice bass fun catching them on lures my favorite is top water action. Nothing like seeing that big mouth coming out of the water to slam a jitterbug or frog. Time for me to get the ice fishing gear ready and get on the pond behind my house excellent bass fishing 4 to 5 lbs are the biggest 1 to 3 lbs the norm nice to be able to go out on this pond and fish after work.

Thanks John. Yeah, it's a new truck. GMC Yukon Denali. I love it. We're gonna have to do some fishing too when we hook up again.

That pond definitely screams "frog", lol. I'm a huge topwater fan too. I love watching the hit. Too cold for topwater here though. I've been catching smallmouth off some rocky points lately.

Where I fish, Largemouth are the predominant species, but the fact that Smallmouth prefer colder water and can be found mostly around rocks, they're the ones biting. Weird actually...I've been throwing crawfish imitation baits and nothing! That's strange, because Smallmouth primarily feed on crawfish. That's why they prefer rock piles and boulders...an environment sure to home craws. Good luck fishing friend, and DON'T be afraid to post some pics if you catch em.
