Default motor esc hookup confusion

Ok so I am pretty sure everything is hooked up correctly and I get nothing...
Well I won't say nothing. I am using 5s lipo and when I turn power on I get the 5 beeps as the esc recognizes the cells count of the battery. But that is it 5 beeps and nothing else. no power to the motor?? I have the motor hooked to the esc three wires center wire to center wire and the two outside wires to corisponding outside wires. Battery is connected correct red to red black to black. JR wire hooked to the throttle port on the receiver. Everything as it should be??? But I get 5 beeps on power up and nothing else?? HELP!!

Check to see if your throttle is all the way to zero including the trim all the way down.

What ESC?

Some require arming. throttle to zero with trim, check, Now the important part... DO THIS WITHOUT A PROP ON!!! Move the throttle stick to full wait for a beep (if so equipped) then back to zero, then advance the throttle again. Motor should spin

Throttle zero as well as trim. turn on trans, connect bat, flip on switch, 5 beeps then nothing. Throttle to full wait for beep, nothing, Throttle to zero and then back up ... nothing. One time it did do the 5 beeps and then a few seconds later to beeped uncontorably??? But for the most part I get 5 beeps and then nothing!!! getting frustrated

I assume this is related to the Telemaster from your previous thread? I looked back to try to see what motor and ESC you ended up using but was not able to tell for sure what you decided on.
What are you using for a transmitter /receiver? I assume those have a solid link?

Sorry, not familiar with that brand. Don't mean to sound condescending but is the esc plugged into the rx in the proper orientation? Throttle channel not reversed?

Just trying to think back on mistakes I have made... LOL

If the esc is plugged into the RX backwords you don't even get the 5 beeps. The throttle is not reversed on my trans, although I did try to reverse it to see if that made a difference and nothing.. I am seeming to get power to the motor. It is what is beeping and it slightly jumps as it beeps. So it is getting juice of some sort. Just no power when I throttle it up.

I'm with Bill on not being familiar with the Gens Ace, and trying to find information/ instruction sheets on the web for them is like trying to pull my own teeth.
The ESCs I have worked with give you some additional beep code after the cell count, or as mentioned above sit and wait for some additional action from the tx to complete the arming sequence. The multiple continuing beeps is usually an error code, the only time I have gotten that is when I did have the ESC plugged into the rx backwards, or on my 2.4 system I did not have the tx bound to the rx.

Unfortunately the Gens Ace web site is having " a brief technical interruption" and is of no help

Are you sure the ESC has a BEC function that works with 5S batteries ? Do the receiver and servos all work ?

Your symptoms sound a lot like a setup that has no power to the receiver so the ESC sees the main battery but then won't initialise because there's no signal coming from the receiver.

Ok guys I got it figured out late last night..... The crystal on the back of my transmitter was half way unplugged!!! Stupid issue! It was totally looking like a miscommunication between the trans and rx and I focused on the rx and paid little attention to the trans!! Anyway I plugged it all in and fired it up and got the 5 beeps as usual and then a dual tone sound that was the trans and rx hooking up and a little throttle and there she goes!!! Thanks again for all the support from this forum. Pretty great group of flyers here!!

What prop size do you use on the Gens ACE 550 kv engine?

I have just ordered the same package, but the 11*5.5 they recommend seems small on a 1250 Watt engine...
What weight class of plane does this motor pull? The 9Kg on the Gens ACE homepage also seems a bit on the large side...
