Lookin good Rick. That's the same prop I ended up with on mine. Cut it down to 14x13x3, to gain more speed and still had plenty of thrust on an E-Flite 60 and 6S.
She's a great flying bird. |

Thanks GG. It was your suggestion that led me to cut the prop for the Spitfire. Quite a noticeable difference. I have since found out that APC makes a 15x13.5x3 prop. If I hadn't already purchased a 15.75x13x3 prop, I'd just buy one of those. I still might. Blue skies!

What a beautiful airplane. Congratulations.
A bit of advice on photography. Take the pics at high res but zoomed OUT a bit, then use an editing program to crop what you don't want. Much easier to get a good pic that way. ...The Bum |

Thanks guys for the kind words! It is cool to see them take off and fly for the first time & even better when they fly well. (although my heart rate on the first lap and the first landing is probably through the roof). This is very fun! Saddlebum, I'll suggest your pic taking techniques to the phototog. Thanks! The wife, I mean Santa, put an ASM F7F Tigercat under the tree, so that's up next. Yipeeee, a big, (82"), twin!!! My wallet is saying Ohhhhhh Noooooo!! Blue skies!!

Hi GG,
Thanks for the reccommendations. I haven't started puting the components list together yet. I think I'm going to choose a higher kv motor the keep my battery cell count to 6s or less. The model should weigh right around 20-22lbs. If I can get 2400 to 2800watts or so I'd be happy. I'm looking at the Scorpion S-4020-8, and a set of CC 80 to 100amp ESCs on 5 cells. It's a bit of a wallet reamer, but quality stuff to be sure. I'm also considering the bargin route with the G-Force, G60, 410kv motor on 6cells. I going to try and spin APC 15x13.5x3 props if the ground clearence is there. 14" might be max, in which case I'll cut down the APC props to fit. Good luck on the P-38!! Waiting for a flight report! Blue skies! RIck |

Going to need a lot lower kv motor Rick to spin those props.
Ball park 70+ amps on those two set ups, per motor, Scorpion on 5S, G60 on 6S. The set up I listed is a 6S set up, 45 amps per motor.................... |

APC makes a 15.75 x 13 x 3 , and also a 15 x 13.5 x 3. But no 15.75 x 13.5 x 3.
