Default Goldberg Eaglet 50 Center of Gravity needed

I am converting an Eaglet 50 to electric. Does anyone have the center of gravity as measured from the leading edge of the wing? I picked this up at a swap meet and no plans were included. I have the original book for one I built in 1985 and all it says is see the original drawings that have long ago disappeared.

I converted my eagle 2 to electric and used the front of the spar as a starting point, worked out well. It is my most stable video platform. enjoy!

Default CG for Eaglet 50

Thanks - main spar rings a bell, but I really did not want to rely on 25 year old memory. I'll have to keep in mind the idea of using it for airborne photography. Do you have a camera recommendation?

Whenever in doubt about CofG position a good rule of thumb is approx a third of the wing chord from the leading edge. Then experiment a little.

Default cg for eaglet

thanks for getting back to me. I was trying to find out if anyone had the actual data from the plans. on a rectangular wing like the eaglet it should be 1/3 the cord. The actual calculation should be 1/3 the wing area.

Default Found my eaglet plans

Dont know if you still need the info on the balance point, but I finally found my eaglet plans. Ill post some pics that show what tou ask for.

By the way, when looking for your thread to post my reply I googled "Eaglet 50 balance point" and found that the balance point is stated on CG site.

One of my friends at the club had said he was pretty sure it was balanced on the main spar and it flies great at that point. Your plans just confirmed that. Makes for a great Sunday afternoon no hassle flyer as an electric.
