I Know belive it or not, I had a 18 ft southwind cabin cruiser, with a 35 HP Johnson, it was slow as heck, so i made a Aluminum trim tap for it, and installed it on the stern at the bottom, and made it adjustable, dang, that worked great, it got the nose down, so it glides over the water, about 35 MPH, Day Cruisers with big block engines had a hard time keeping up with me in the choppy ocean it had a v hull and it cut right through the water, the trim tab was big like about 10" wide, and that made all the difference in the world, yea i know Day Cruiser have a flat hull, but it sure made me feel good to Beat them up in the ocean with only 35 HP

I love boats, I need to get another one soon, I am helping a friend with his 45' Trawler, its about a 1987, it has 2- 454 chevy engines in it, I dont know why, but someone disconnected the heat choke linkage off the carbs, it comes from the eng. manifold to the carb, well the chokes will never open his flame arrestors were plugged with black soot so we hooked the choke linkages back up, cleaned the soot off the flame arrestors, they were plugged, you could not see daylight throuth them
and i am having him check and test the choke vacuum pull offs, those poor engines were hurting,

his engines would not rev up past 1900 rpm, because the chokes were on, and the secondarys never opened up so all he could do is put around the harbor hopefully now the chokes will open up, and he can use the secondarys, the choke has to open before the secondarys will open up, there is a lock tab that has to unlock the secondary to open up, and that only happens when the choke is fully open on the primarys

Thats right i have been involved with boats since i was about 16, my father always liked to go fishing, my first boat was that 18 ft southwind, it was wood with fiberglass on the outside, then i had a 15" bow rider, and a lot of other smaller boats, they are fun, but a lot of work

Steve that is awesome man nice work. My son was looking over my should going he's got a yacht! Some cool boats Chellie I don't have anything like you folks just a simple 14' aluminum V hull and a 15 HP Evenrude Both are from 1975 still run great. I do love being out on the water that is sooooo relaxing.
I used to sail O'days on Lake Quinsigomund in Worc. where I got my helmsman card from the sailing club when I was a kid.
You are a luck man Steve looks big enough to live on board.

Ya that would be cool Chellie. I really should get rid of my motor it is a 2 cycle and pollutes like crazy. Kinda tough to sell it though I don't think there would be to many takers for it even though it runs strong.

This was my 5'th multi-hull build , Did smaller tunnel boats and mono hulls before these, I got maybe one or two more in me yet I hope,
This one has two stateroom's with full heads, two crew Qt's , she'll sail 12 knots in 12-15 knots on a broad-reach, this is the first junk-rig I've ever done (or been on) plus the first Watt-boat as well,
I have as much fun in my dink with it's two HP Honda as any Yat'chit ,,bubsteve
