I have an Extreme Flight 70" Extra 300 all programmed up and the balance is good for battery positioning. I just need to settle on how to power the flight system. I bought a 2s A123 2200ma receiver pack from Radical but then in checking the servos they won't take the voltage so must be at 6v or less. I have a 5s NiMh pack that's 1700 and I could go direct with that but I don't know if it would keep up with the digital servo loads and even though it cycles well it's a couple of years old. I have the MEGA 8 UBEC non switching from HK http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idproduct=6313 that I can plug one of my 2s 2200 LiPo's into and get a solid 8 amps at 6v. Or I can buy an 8-15 amp Ubec http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idproduct=6233 and run that with the 2s LiPo or the A123's (which could be left in the plane to charge).
Since this is a relatively high investment I don't want to do anything stupid and It's my first experience with digital servos. I need to know how much amperage they will demand in flight. I have three HD-9110-MG standard size servos on the ailerons and rudder and two Hyperion DS16-FMD's on the elevators.
Meanwhile I might maiden it tomorrow on the 5s NiMh direct if that will be enough power.
