Give or take a few bucks. Event costs play a role too. My point was going towards they have a stake in this hobby.

That kind of money is really nice to have lying around when you're getting into lobbying. It ain't cheap and it ain't easy. I've been an AMA member for about a month, and I'd say the $58 I invested in them already has paid off, assuming that the bill will clear the house too.

This is definitely good news indeed. I think I'll send Senator Inhofe a "Thank You" email thanking him for his efforts to keep the FAA from inputting unnecessary regulations on model aviation.
Thanks to Rich Hanson and everyone involved on the AMA side to make this happen. Certainly good news for AMA members and non AMA members alike. Frank |

the president of AMA came to our last club meeting to present what AMA is doing on behalf of all the members...i was shocked at how many educational programs AMA sponsors. he explained the negotiation with FAA and it wasn't as gloomy as we all thought.
still, when a..holes fly their fpv planes around the statue of liberty and post it on you tube fore all to see, then we may have a problem. it was a great meeting with approx 75 members present. frank is so right in sending a letter to a senator who supported our loved hobby. thanks is in order to show government we #140k strong and want to protect our right to fly .

But do you realize that we're now one of those "special interest groups" that everyone is always complaining about?
![]() No, but seriously. This is an example how it's supposed to work. A group of regular people who are passionate about something get organized and present their case to a Senator who actually listens and who helps come up with a sensible solution. If only this was the norm... |

Thank you notes sent. I sent one to Sen. Inhofe and Rich Hanson. Easy to do and hoping we can get a bunch of folks to do the same. I don't think we are out of the woods yet though. So let's keep an eye and ear out for the next step in the process.
This is exactly how the process works. You are right about that. Unfortunately, there normally is not enough people that want to "get involved" and take the time to write our leadership in DC. I think we have shown that the model aviation community is not your "normal" group of people. Thanks, Frank |

Click on the link below and enter your info. Easy and quick to do. http://amagov.modelaircraft.org/4077...all-to-action/
Let's hear from you guys. What number from your state were you? Frank |

You are the 16th person from Michigan to sign this petition. It looks like I need to bring this up at our next club meeting. Steve |
