Default Scratchbuilt Eagle

Seen these things fly in a video and also seen them for sale in a magazine so i thought
i would see if i could scratchbuild one.
Here is the first picture of the build which is going to be a monobloc type of fuselodge.
I figure the wingspan will be around 36inches and length around 24inches.

My artistic ability is not all that great but should suffice at a distance.

All finished and ready for its maiden.
Not sure if i will be able to do it today yet as it is still not light and the wind is about 8
miles per allready. I like no wind for maidens.

Hope for the best.

Good luck Crash.

I agree, it's hard to trim a plane out when it's getting slapped around by the wind.

Well i just came back inside after the maiden of the Eagle and it went well.
She flys like an Eagle.
I want to tell you it is fun to see it circling up about 50ft and lower.
You have to be carefull about losing orientation though and i almost did.
I am real happy with it so far.

Congrats! Thats a nice looking "bird"

We have several vultures and a few hawks that are always circling the flying field. I'm so tempted to build an eagle but I KNOW it would get attacked the first time out... and I know myself well enough to know that I wouldn't be able to resist a dogfight...

Got in a short flight again this morning with the Eagle and she sure is fun.
The bird is very light and the wind was tossing it around quite a bit so i kept
the flight short. Made a real bird like landing and went inside the house where
it is nice and warm.Ha
The Eagle will fly again.

Got in 3 more short flights this morning before the wind came up too far and she flew
great. Did a lot of circling the area and did some slow loops with her.
It is fun to head her into the wind and let her slow right down to nothing and then turn
her around and do it over again. Just like i have seen real ones do.

Great looking bird, Crash. I can just picture it with some "claws" on the bottom and a stuffed chihuahua hanging from it.
