Also if it is a 3 cell abbreviated [3s] it can, but the esc is made for nicad and will let you over discharge your lipo. Discharging a lipo below 3 volts per cell kills them! I would suggest getting an ESC that is lipo friendly. Don't forget the stock motor is brushed when you look for ESC's.
