Default R.I.P. Bird Dog

5th flight of the day, fresh battery, all is good.

200 ft. up I do a hard aileron roll, but only one servo goes back to neutral.
Full deflect up, I can see the left aileron is stuck.

I have altitude, a little power and I get the nose up, but its falling like a rock.
Bank left, back to near level, ground approaching fast, chop throttle and it goes in behind a large field of tall weed flowers.

Theres hope!

Until I walked up. I managed to find the only clearing in the field to go in. Post mortem shows no damage to wing, but the servo is stripped and is stuck running in the up position. My bet is the Potentiometer in the servo failed, and it just started driving.

A little thinning of the fleet today. Sad as the dawg was a good performer and a reliable plane....

Sorry for your loss of your plane I had the same thing happen on my small stick in the fall no hope of a recovery either. She looks like you could repair her and give the plane a second life.

Thanks for the kind words guys, but she's toast. If I had flipped it over for the pic you'd see the wing saddle gone, the back of the wing tore out at the mount, and the cowl is now soft and squishy.

Add the fact that the radio tray, and the windshield are shattered, it would just hurt the memories of a once great bird.

Pretty plane too. Like the whole saying about how strong a chain is, the RC plane is as strong as its weakest servo.
