Default Looking for 1/12 scale Spitfire kit

I am looking for a Spitfire Kit or short kit, 34-40 inch wing span. Here is the closest I found but cannot find any builds on this plane. Anyone recommend any good kits? Looking for balsa construction with built up structure and covered with sheet balsa. Any help appreciated......Would like electric power.........Too many ARFs and not enough kits. Will also post in Warbirds.

I was looking for the same thing and ended up scratchbuilding one. I have used the Dave Philpotts plan as a guide, scaled to 37" span, but changed the construction quite a lot. It needed to have the stabilizer and elevator enlarged.

At 34 oz. flying weight that Traplet kit looks awfully heavy.

I meant to do that! Anyway, I can fix it.

There's also a Mark Rittinger plan available here:

His planes have a good reputation.

A bit smaller, but you can always sheet the Guillows.
I built one with ailerons and a good amount of washout and right-down thrust. It was actually an easy launch and flight. Agreed that the sheeting really does make the look on the Spitfire, as it is not covered framework like the rear of a Hurricane. I had to sheet my Spitfire fuse. All things considered, if I had used lighter sheeting and covering, I could have easily sheeted both the wing and fuse, and still ended up no heavier. One nice thing with Spitfires, is that the wing area is large at any scale. The Guillows Spitfire has the most wing area of the series, at 1 square foot.
