Default BEC Wiring

I've got a Ultrafly P-51, and have installed flaps and retracts, so I'm using 6 servos. The BEC in the ESC is only rated for a max of 4 (2A). So I'm going to use a hobbywing Switch mode UBEC rated 3A cont and 5A peak.
I think i've worked it out, but need some reassurance!! - Do I simply connect the battery to both the ESC and the UBEC with a Y lead and disconnect the ESC red wire?

Thanks guys,
Mike

The battery + and - are connected to the inputs of the ESC and BEC, and the Rx connector from the ESC should have the red wire disconnected and is then plugged into the throttle channel. The BEC output can either be plugged into an empty channel on the Rx (if one exists) or Y-connected to the Rx with the ESC.

I have been reading all this information on the esc and bec and ubec and I think I am in overload. I want to use the battery that came with my radio DX7 for my rcvr and servos and a Lipo for my motor. tell me the correct way to connect this together.
Thanks in advance.

The receiver battery plugs into the battery port on the receiver and the ESC plugs into the throttle channel. Be sure to disconnect the center wire (usually red) in the ESC plug.

Not sure if there is some specific reason you want to use that Rx battery but you could save a lot of weight by using the BEC that is built into the ESC (if it has one) or using an external UBEC.

You can use a receiver battery in place of a UBEC. Remove the red wire from the ESC -> Rx plug. Then plug the Rx battery into an unused channel on the Rx. If no unused channel on the Rx then use a Y connector on one of the channels with the Rx battery plugged into one of the Y legs.

Hi Rc modler if you have a 9v transmitter pack, you will need to reduce the voltage down to about 5 volts, you will need to use a UBEC between the battery and the receiver. install a dean or other type of plug, so you can disconnect the UBEC from the Transmitter Battery, or the battery will get drained down when not in use.

Then on your ESC, you will need to remove the Red wire on the 3 wire plug that goes to the receiver, take a pin and lift the plastic lock on the plug and pull the wire out, tape the wire so it does not short out, and you can reinstall it again if you ever need to for a different plane.

If you have a 4 channel receiver, you will need to use a y harness, and plug the UBEC plug and the ESC plug into the y harness and then into your receiver throttle port.

If you have a 6 or more channel receiver, then you can plug the UBEC plug into any open port, make sure the polarity is correct. and plug the ESC plug into the Throttle port, with out the need for a Y Harness.

use a UBEC, something like this from your transmitter battery, it will go between the transmitter battery and the receiver, you may need a y harness only if your using a 4 channel receiver. plug it into any open port to power the receiver, esc, and servos.

If your plane is big enough, you can carry the extra weight of the Transmitter battery Pack, if not, just use a UBEC off the motor lipo pos and neg leads.

Here is my problem...I have a Sullivian On Board Glow Driver that will accept any battery from 1.2 to 12 volts to drive the glow plug. I want to use a LiFe 6.6V battery but I do not want to have it
discharge below 5V (2.5V per cell) for fear of destroying the pack. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks....repinfl
