Radian brown out?

I was flying at the local park today, about 250" away from me and my radian became unresponsive. It is using the AR600. Minor damage, just cracked the wing in half- surprisingly after falling 200 ft.
The RX was blinking after the flight, doesn't that mean that it lost power in the flight? The battery was at 11.7v, around there.
What do you think happened?

Did a tree, pole or something get between you and your plane, if yes, you might of had a Masking problem, your battery or motor could have Masked your receiver if they got between the transmitter and the receiver, if you were drawing a lot of amps , WOT in a climb, you could of had a brown out problem due to low voltage, or you could of had a bad/loose connection at the battery connection/dean and it caused the receiver to reboot, there are just so many things that can go wrong, its hard to say for sure what caused the problem, the only thing you can do is to take measures to prevent what could cause problems with a 2.4 receiver, First thing to do is to always use a UBEC, that will prevent a brown out due to low voltage, a ubec is a cheap INSURANCE POLICY with 2.4, second thing that causes problems is Masking with non full range receivers, the only thing to do here is to buy Full Range receivers, the third thing to give you problems is range problems, use full range receivers here too, and you could have a problem with your Transmitter, did the transmitter batteries get low on you, As you can see, Lots of things can go wrong, and I just listed a few things that will help to prevent problems, Hope that helps, Chellie

Ok, on the non full range 2.4 receivers dont let anything get between you and your plane to prevent a masking problem and use a UBEC, and dont let your plane get to far away from you and you should be ok. Hope that helps, Chellie

remove the red battery wire on the ESC plug where it plugs into the receiver, normally you can take a needle and lift up on the plastic lock and pull the wire and connecton free, tape it up, so it can be used later if needed, use a y harness if you only have a 4 channel receiver and are using all 4 channels, plug the y harness into your receiver throttle port with the esc plug and the ubec pluged into the y harness.or if you have a open receiver port, normally you can plug the UBEC into any open receiver port.

The problem I think now is that it was close to power lines.

I saw a big RC at the field today comedown due to the same problem.
He flew it close to 4-5 power lines and then lost connection. He also had an AR500 so we are not sure of the real killer.
I spoke with Eric Meyers at horizon and he said that the 2.4 does not like powerlines. Basically if the powerlines are in between you and the plane.
