Hi
Welcome aboard
Pleased to meet you
To change the brushes is a fairly simple matter
Unsolder the motor wire, snap out the old brush, snap in the new one, and resolder the motor wire.
Hope this helps
Take care
Yours Hank

Hello Hank and others, I'm still learning my way around here. Can you post V4 questions here?

Hank, we miss you

Mike.

Hey Hank, your my first friend here on Watts... Tomorrow my Bud and I are replacing the main frame that I disintegrated on his V4. I bought two main frames and two battery holders (stock). I'm thinking of replacing my own main frame as well. It was new in Jan 2008. Do these type of plastics break down making them weak and flexable? The brick in mine seems to bounce a bit...very flexable. It's been said that this type of movement sends the gyro crazy. BTW, some of the screw holes in the main frame has been repaired several times per Durk's instructions in his RCG blog.

Thanks for the warm welcome,
Mike

Hi Mike
Ive noticed that certain plastics used in our rc helicopters do over time become either quite brittle or softer as in your case over time and with wear and tear
If your having problems i would change the frame for a new one
So very glad to have you here and i think you will like the atmosphere here at Wattflyer very much as well
Take care dear friend

Hank, I think what I'll do is first install my Buddy's main frame first as it needs it anyway. Then check to see if there is a difference in the way that the brick holds to the front mount. If it seems stiffer I will change mine out. I'm not sure if it is a rumor or not....but it is said Esky parts are getting very difficult to find. I bought the two main frames and battery holders in the beginning of March. So, you can see the spot I'm in as far as trying to hold onto some parts if not needed at the moment. I'll keep ya posted.

Mike.

Hank, this is what we did.. I took the the front piece of the main frame that had snapped from the main frame (front tab that the 4in1 mounts to). Cleaned it up. CA'd that onto the new main frame doubling up on the brick mount. It worked out great as it still had the "L" shape that fit perfectly on the new main frame. Gonna do this to mine too. AWSOME...Nice and strong and I know it will improve the performance of the gyro being so rock solid....shhhhh

Hank, I forgot to tell you. Goofing around, I googled my own user name. I then googled "frieslander." Got a picture of his cat kinko, clicked on Kinko's picture and here I am

Mike.

PS: I tried to post this on your wall but, I needed 10 posts total to do so
