Default Took the plunge

After teaching my self to fly, both on simulators and in the real world, I think I may have picked up some bad habits. In fact I know I did. Inescapable when doing it all yourself.
So this week I applied for my MAAC membership ( same as the ama but for Canada ).
And I'm joining a local club for proper instruction.
My instructor is a local pylon racer and has me quite intrigued by that aspect of the hobby.
The club field has a terrific paved runway(s) and a large pond for planes. Best part is its only a ten minute drive from my house. Who knew?
Wish me luck. We all think we're great pilots till we fly with someone else. Lol

Looking forward to it. The field is 10 minutes north east of the airport.

Looks like this is turning into quite a nice summer.
I just hope you don't mind flying in the wind. The nicer the day around here the more wind we have.
Here's a link to the clubs site.

I usually stay at the Sandman by the airport, so that should be just fine. The serve excellent Ceasars at the bar in that hotel, but now that I have a flying buddy up there, I have TWO good reasons to go to Calgary!

Haha. Of course they sell good ceasers around here. That drink was invented right here in Calgary. You'll find getting to the airport from the sandman just got a bit tougher though. The just permanently shut down the north/south road that took you directly to the airport to build a new runway. Well be accommodating the new airbus once its done.
Looking forward to meeting you Swede!

Ah, that's what they were doing! I remember seeing the signs about the shutdown for about a year. Well, the Sandman is still very close to my customer and I hope the shutdown of the road won't affect the Ceasars!
