lil birds sure are brave to go after the bigger birds to protect their nest. but you would think they could tell the diff between a hawk or a cub

That's funny reminds me of the WWII fighter movies. The fighters can out maneuver the bombers same thing with the little bird attacking the big bird the little one can out maneuver the bigger bird, and stay safe.

I flew my Champ both Saturday and Sunday evening before dark. Saturday there were 3 or 4 Hawks circling about 200 to 300 feet away. Eventually they did a sort of fly-by about 15 or 20 feet away but the last one actually made a pass at the plane. I thought he was going to grab it as he was just inches from it, but aborted and flew by. He may have sensed the spinning prop. The whole thing was pretty interesting.

Sunday night two small birds made a pass at the Champ from behind.

Maybe they wanted a ride.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!! That almost sounds like a ol' Chris Farley line! I guess all the birds around here are taking a chill pill, no birds even come close to the plane, except the little sandpipers that divebomb me and play "possum" when I get too close to their nests!!
