No problem with spar in wing, I figured that out. But I want to build some stiffener for fuselage between the flat fuselage surface and the vertical fuselage surface. I've seen this done in pictures but when I zoom in it gets all blurry and search isn't being my friend. How do you terminate the carbon fiber where it meets the surface where you want to glue it? I'm running diagonal bracing. Do you just butt it up and glue it? There is no way to bend carbon fiber, right? So you can't bend it to make a foot at the end to increase gluing surface area, right? Hey I had to ask. Search turned up with absolutely no "how to" for carbon fiber. Search is not my friend. |

once set, it stays that shape. but glueing it is similar to fiberglass, sand it lightly to expose some fibers. this gives the glue a better grip. if not sanded it will hold good but not great.

This foamie came with a tube of UHU POR (glue) for attaching carbon fiber. But the kit is really old, been on a shelf forever, or maybe the tube was short, not quite filled from the get go. Either way I need to learn what kind of glue I can purchase to glue carbon fiber to foam.
So I searched on here and other places and it seems Michale's cares the UHU brand and I was to purchase UHU "Creative". But as luck would have it when I got to the Michale's store all they had was UHU "Twist & Glue". I bought it but doesn't seem to be the same thing. So what do people use? Please? |
