This is not the machine for those wanting absolute speed as it is a BIG airframe. At top speed you can sometimes notice slight oscillation of the wing tips as the wing is long and flexible. Doesn't affect the flight or stability at all. It flies straight as a pattern ship and lands like a large trainer. I've added 2 arrow shaft spars for strength, as the wing is known to fail if built stock. The landing gear mounts are actually quite good and didn't need any beefing up. I'm using flyfly clone air type retracts and have shortened the HTG struts by about 1". Give a nice stance and provides less leverage for ripping out on hard landings. Used HTX900 servos all round except put metal gear type on the flaps. The rudder only had the bottom half operating so I modified it by making the top half work as well. Highly recommended (if your car is big enough)! |

Checked the speed on this bad boy with the RCSpeedo app.
80mph/129kph average speed (with and without the wind). Not that much slower than my other 90mm EDF's. Just the bigger size makes it look somewhat slower. F-86 90mph L-39 85mph |
