Default The Death Of a Battery

Yeah I just got my new parkzone corsair, and have only flew it a total of 5 times so far. After a flight lastnight, I came home went to bed and woke up this morning to charge. Now, the battery is a ParkZone PKZ1031 11.1V 1800mAh (19.98 Wh),Continuous discharge up to 15c 27(Amps). The charger is the ParkZone 2-3 Cell Balancing Li-Po Charger. This is what comes stock with the parkzone corsair. Anywayse, when I went out to my vehicle to charge it, I plug it in to my lighter jack, the green light came on telling me that it was ready to accept a charge. So I plugged the battery in, and instead of hearing 3 beeps for a 3 cell, I see red and green lights alternating in flash and beeps. I have the amps set to 1.5 lke I usaully do so I dont know what is going on. Probably the crap charger, but dont know. Could it be the battery, I ran it out like your supposed to but it has a 75% cutoff so technically I dont think I drained it. IDK !!!!!!! Please help

Well, with lipo you really aren't supposed to 'run it out'. It damages them. This is not a NiCad.

If you over discharge the lipo to below 3.0v/cell that charger will no longer charge it. Do you have a voltmeter to check?

That particular charger ain't too swift either. I've had 3, I know. So, could be lipo, could be the charger.

If you're going to learn to fly them, you have to learn to fix them.

Do you have a wattmeter or cell voltage checker available? If not, you can use a multimeter if you're careful not to create a short while you're testing. How familiar are you with the care and feeding of Lipo batts? If you haven't already, you should read this guide, well at least the part on Lipo's as it's a long one, and you'll learn alot.

A few pages in there's a link to this whole guide in pdf format for easier reading.

If you'd like more help on how to check the battery and cell voltages with a multimeter just give a holler.
