I have the above mentioned radio and decided to transition from heli to fixed wing. I am finishing my build of the mountain model Panic, working out the electronics now. I come to find out that the "H" on the end of my radio is a buzz kill for my hopes of keeping this radio for fixed wings. Seems like I can't unmix the channels for the ailerons. Does anyone know of a way to "flash" the computer memory on this radio to allow me to solve this issue, or should I just break down and get a new radio. (If that is the case I will more than likely just sell the whole Trex kit with it to cover the costs of a new one) Any input is greatly appreciated. Jason |

Can't you just plug four servos into a Rx and see if they work independently ?
Aileron, Elevator, Throttle, Rudder. What does Aileron get mixed with ?, (not being a heli flier). Do some of the switches cancel some of the heli functions ? Just did a search and found this thread - (Futaba 6EXH and Airplanes) http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1122125 |

Eflight- ray,
Thanks for the response. With the Panic layout each aileron has it's own servo. I guess if I reconfigured it I could use one aileron servo to control both surfaces but being this is my first 3d kit build I am trying to stick as close to specs as possible. I might have found a used transmitter at a reasonable price...we shall see. Thanks, Jason |

Found an airplane transmitter at reasonable price, now I need to order a new set of crystals and try it out. Can't wait to maiden the Panic and see how she flies.

I thought you could create both Heli and airplane profiles on that radio. Based on the link provided above, other pilots use that radio for airplanes.
