Default BLITZ RC FA-18 Elevator question

Hi All

Just setting up the BLITZ RC FA-18 (Jolly Roger Variant), and had a question about the elevator set up. There are two servos one for each elevator side.

Now I have a Hobby King F5E, and the set up is the same, when I plugged the F5 in both servos worked correctly, that is both moved the two elevator halves up or down.

With the FA18, they work differentially, that is one side goes up, the other goes down, like ailerons, which is not what I want for an elevator!! I've played around with wing type mixes etc but to no avail. ..... can anyone help???

You may need to use a devise called a reversing Y, it reverses the direction of one of the servos.

What radio system are you using?
Are both servos hooked to same channel?
Are these surfaces used as ailerons also?

You have a couple options
If you have a computer radio you can run a separate channel to the elevator channel with one of the mixes or just reverse the servo by rewiring it internally. Reverse the two outer wires going to the pot and reverse the motor wires. You just want a fine tip soldering iron.
Cheers
I have seen a servo reversing circuit on the HK website but it is never in stock!

I understand that with modern servos the 'wires' are often built into the sevo pdb so it's not easy/possible to reverse.

Fliegenmong,
Cant you just turn the servo arm 180 deg ? You might have to mount the servos at slight different height to do this (low mounted servo with 'arm up', high mounted servo with 'arm down')
