Default HZ Champ Or PZ Champ

Which of the above should I get? Or are they both the same?

Also I will be purchasing another battery with it, which would u suggest and is it compaitable with the charger that comes with either of the planes?

I have the Hz champ and beat it up pretty good while learning to fly...but it just keeps on going. Wonderful plane. Order from Hobby Zone and they throw in a free battery. I have the HZ 3.7v 150 mAh 12c and get about 5-8 minutes of flight!

I do not have experience with the PZ version but I am on my second HZ Champ now. The first one I received would not arm the motor everytime. They did replace it promply but you still have to go through the return, on your own dollar of course.

The airplane is a really great and tough little thing but eventually I had to replace it with a new one. (trees, bushes and unexpected landings did it in).

Well today, after attempting to use the newly received Champ, I cut off the battery connector from the older Champ to resolder to the recently new Champ. There was something wrong with the received connector that just would not connect.

Had I not had a 'spare parts kit' I would have been returning it.

But when it is working it is a great little airplane.

The batteries and charger are the same on both brands and available from numerous online RC suppliers at very reasonable prices. HeadsUpRc or ValueHobbies have batteries for cosiderable less than the HZ or PZ prices.

I would probably still pick the Champ in spite of the quality issues I experienced.

Good luck,

Roger

I've had a Champ since Dec '10, fly it a lot. I have many other planes, but for simple fun it is very nice to have. I, maybe lucky?, have not lost, dinged, bent, broken, the Champ. Great 1st plane. But soon you need to move up. Don't stay with the Champ too long. Get a nice 3 ch trainer like the HZ S. Cub. Then move up to the Eflite Appentice size. Big easy to fly 4 ch. Then? Whatever you and your flying mates think you are ready for!

Hobby Zone and Park Zone are just different parts of the same company, aren't they? What is the difference between the two?

There's no difference, it's just that Parkzone is a much better known name here in the UK so the Champ is often called something like the "Parkzone Hobbyzone Champ" .
