Default Delta Wing

Ok got a wild hair up my and decided I am going to try to build a delta wing from scratch. No plans and no clue should be an interesting time, Doesnt pay to send me into a hardware store, like a kid in a candy store, new tools etc, Oh Yea!! Anyhow I came across a deal on foam and said ahh why not. The worst I could do is screw it all up. I will try to post some pics of the mess I am making

Happy flying may your crashes be limited and if they are not limited let them be cool.

Good luck, looks interesting! More beer to guarantee straightness.

I was thinking about building one of these for those windy days,

Default Stumped or thinking to hard

Ok folks ran into a snag.
Not sure how to find the CG of this plane. Therfore am not sure where to mount the electronics. I have been reading up on CG and it would appear that I need more than a 6th grade education to figure it out. Any thoughs? Also I am not sure where or how I want to mout receiver etc because if it dont fly at all I want to be able to remove elctronics in case of trash or repairs any thoughts here as well would be apprecaited.
Thanks Fishbonez
I may be in over my head

Lets take a passage from the book of Vinni Barbarino chapt 1, Verse 2. We see Vinnie in front of Mr Kotter Where Mr Kotter asks him simply explain CG and the brilliant Vinnie reply is "Eh Eh WWWhat?" Lets us all close VB verses Amen

to also steal an old Irish proverb
"Im all beef hooked"

Yea definitly in over my head. I am the reason one should not drink beer and design

me too, it might be wrong (this is how I did it) but layout all the electrics and battery on your plane so that the CG is approx 1/4 or less back from the front of your plane. It turned out ok on a SU-26, but I am sure a delta wing will be totally different.!!

have a good one

I'm not laughing at you....I laughing with you!! Just kidding. Looks pretty good for real, IMO your stab might be a little large, but it is better than starting off too small as you can trim it as needed.

Are you making it into a pusher or is the motor up front? Also Chellie always recommends using little winglets (vertical stab at the ends of the wing to make it fly on rails). Honestly you are going into territory that is way beyond me, so I will just shutup. LOL

hey if you want a real laugh look at my first scratcher, it flew for about 16 seconds and died!!LOL

Its going to be pusher I hope If I dont have the prop on backwards i made a wild guess. I think I am going to add the winglets to offset the ugliness of the front end

Found the 5mm and 10mm at hobby lobby, have about 80 bucks in the whole plane. The wing is one piece of 5mm and it folded at the fuse, should of made it out of 10mm, the fuse is 3 pieces of 10mm glued together and a whole lot of sanding. It actually flew pretty good, just too weak. Motor is a MicroJet V3 from Grayson, had way too much power almost 200watts and wings and control surfaces were too small.

.....and yeah me too.....I think I have "quit" like 7 times!!!

Fish, like Crimzon, I'm not laughing at you, but I do have 1 question. Is that a bird house your building on the front of it?
Sorry just kidding. Hey your doing better than I am, I want to scratch build but haven't got the guts to really try it yet. I'm still building off of plans. Keep up the great work!
