Default Deltrum 70 MM DEF power combo set

Does anyone know anything about this EDF. I am proposing to put it into a power pod for a scale glider wieghing around 3.5 pounds (2.6 meter sailplane). What type of perforance will i get? Will it be way under powered? Should i scrap this idea and cut the nose off and go with a standard motor and folding prop?

Any information would be much appriciated.

Buy the power pod from Nitro planes and look for a 70mm EDF with thrust specs on the web.

here is a 72mm edf that will put out about 4.2 lbs of thrust with a 6 cell lipo, use a 80 amp esc and a ubec, a 2650mah 40C or bigger mah will work great, this will give you better than a 1 to 1 power ratio, it will be very quick

a ubec is a must when using 4 or more lipo cells, remove the red wire from the esc to the receiver at the plug when using a ubec.

using a standard motor and folding prop will be a cheaper way to go, EDF cost more money to produce thrust because they are very inefficient. Just my 2 cents worth, take care, Chellie

Thanks for the information. i will reconsider using a power pod and most likely cut the nose off.
