I have finally pick up a radio to replace my dx5e so I do not need to bind between my 2 foamie plane. But i ran into issue the 1st fly using DX8. Here is what happen, please suggest: a) i charged the dx8 and battary show 5.5V b) change system setting to my name c) checked Spektrem recall again the radio (the id # in battary case inside the radio is not on the list), radio s/w version is 2.01 d) i bind it to f4u, test the 4 channel and they work e) my son and i went to the field, I tossed the plane as usual and my son pull the throttle to get it up, after 10 seconds my son told me he have no control or control is not responding the way he expect f) plane crash ![]() sad but damage is not much, only cowl and prop as the plane is not far from ground level. I have rebind the plane, test it again and do not want to try again on dx8 until i know why. Any suggestion... I didn't bidn my 15e on DX8 yet, just in case ![]() Ted. |

You didn't mention if you did a range check. It's an important step, particularly with a new Tx/plane setup.

There is a known bug with the 6115e and one other receiver that will cause unintended elevator movements. Spektrum is aware of this and If I were you I would call Horizon even if your transmitter is not on the recall list to discuss a solution.

hmm, i am sure i took the bind plug out. I am not sure about the issue with 6115e issue. Let me call them to ask. I doubt if i want to use the DX8 until i am sure it works.

In my dx7 instructions it says to rebind after making all adjustments to your plane even though you bound it the first time. I have never had a problem with my dx-7 but that does not mean they dont exist or the new 8 dx might have issues. I did once used a futaba charging cord and it was the reverse of the charging cord for a dx and it blew a fuse . I called the company and even though it was my fault they sent me a new fuse and charged me nothing. Hope you get it figured out. joe

New Radio:
1) Bind receiver 2) Go through set-up to be sure all surfaces are neutral 3) Set up all your mixes, expo, etc. 4) Test all surfaces and mixes to see they move correctly 5) Be sure you know what switches/dials, sliders operate what. 6) Power off and retest 7) Range check from a variety of angles, not just one. 8) Rebind receiver so that your failsafe is all surfaces neutral and throttle off. 9) Range check one more time go fly |
