As usual I am new to all this and bought a Parkzone micro Mustang and love it but the battery that came with it only last 10 - 12 mins of flight so i went out and bought 4 of these Made by - TURNIGY 1S 3.7V 138mah The original battery that came with the mustang is Made by - Parkzone 1S 3.7V 120mah I tried to charge the new batteries with the charger supplied with the kit (aa charger thing) and the batteries don't hold the charge, they last 1 min then cut out, the original battery charges fine... i even changed the AA batteries and still the same thing. So i bought the E-Flite Celectra charger that does 4 batteries at a time that run off D size batteries and still the same. Anyone know if these new batteries won't charge in these due to the higher mah? or do i have rubbish batteries? I can't see all 4 being naf, but i don't know. Help me pls if ya can, i am new to all this and don't understand battery stuff. thanks

It's possible that the new batteries dont have a high enough 'C' rating so their voltage is dropping when you put them under load leading to the low voltage trip activating.
If when you re-charge them they charge much more quickly than the original PZ battery (indicating that they were not fully discharged) then this pretty much confirms it. Steve **EDIT** Looks like i guessed right.. The original Parkzone battery is 14C rated so it's rated for a discharge current of 1.7A (14 x 0.12) the Turnigy is 10C so its rated for only 1.4A (10 x 0.138) Only a small difference but enough to cause trouble, especially when you take into account that some cheap batteries struggle to meet their stated discharge rating anyway. You should be looking for batteries with a minimum of '15C' discharge rating. Steve |

If you want guaranteed performance then the 'Hyperion G3 130mAh 1S UM' battery is the one to go for, they are 25C rated.. Available from any Hyperion stockist.. Should give a nice performance boost too.
