Mode 4 Dual Stick Question

I'm just recently getting back to the hobby and things have changed more than expected.I use mostly single stick 72 MHz transmitters and I have several nice ones. However, to reap the rewards of today’s tech I can only go to dual sticks. I used a few dual sticks years ago and I used mode 4.I just swapped the rec ch.I didn't like mode 1 or 2.
I have searched a lot for info on this so my question is this; am I correct in thinking a few high end radios allow you to change modes 1,2,3,and 4 in the software while others only allow mode 1 or 2?

You will have too buy a mode 4 Transmitter
It is possible to buy an rc transmitter and change the mode yourself, but this involves dismantling the case and changing the position of the small gimbal springs in order to determine the throttle stick. Connections might also need to be changed.
This procedure isn't recommended unless you are very competent with this kind of delicate work
I have a high end radio A JR !2 and i would have to dismantle and change it manually
I know of no radio that would be an easy change

I will not need to change the springs or the throttle ratchet if the radio is mode 2.Throttle will still be on the left, but the aileron and rudder controls would be effectively swapped to make mode 4.

Futaba's new T6J that goes for the price of a DX6i offers all stick modes
Oh, and Spektrum receivers are way more than the Futaba S-FHSS receivers, only the "orange" receivers offer a lower cost alternative with "Spek"

Thanks for the info Pete.I have mostly used JR radios except for a 8SSAP SS Futuba,however I like the price of the T6J and the ability to use any one of the 4 stick modes.I'm not familiar with the 2.4 ghz so I have a question please.I read the manual on the T6J and I copied the part I have a question about.The words in parenthisis confuses me.
I have a new DX6i with rec I think I will sell or trade for a T6J.
