I guess its my turn to get an order screwed up....

After a couple of years of orders through Hobby King, both personal and WBC purchases, an order of mine got screwed up and I now understand the pain of having an order go bad.

An order was placed for 4 each 6 cell, 3000 batteries, 2 each 3 cell Nano 1800 batteries, and a pair of UBEC's. When placed, all items shown in stock, in the same warehouse, and order was placed.

EMS shipping at $65 is paid.

5 days go by, online status says printed at warehouse, but online chat is available. Chatting with 'R', I am assured my order is fine, even though NOW some items show as backorder.

24 hours later, I get the "Problem with your order" email, and I'm given 2 options. 1, cancel order and have $300 worth of store credit, or 2, cancel items on backorder. Lucky those are cheap, so I cancel the small nano's and now have $23 worth of credit.

SO, I am now at 12 days from order, and payment for EMS shipping at $65, with no conformation of shipping.

I don't use HK anymore - my last order sealed the deal. My stuff arrived broken, missing or they simply send the wrong stuff. They agree they sent me the wrong stuff - but did NOTHING to fix! We screwed up - sucks to be you - amazing.

Have had good luck with hobbypartz they ship from here in the US. Out of stock a fair but, but so is HK.

Value Hobby shows some promise too.

Wow, that sucks. They didn't have those packs in the US warehouse?

I just placed an order for a large quantity of servos on Saturday and got the shipping notice today (chose slow boat, not EMS). So far no issues with any prior orders.

Bummer sorry to hear about you Having problems with HK, To be on the safe side, I dont make orders larger than 75.00 with HK, and if I need more than that, i will make seperate orders, That seems to work for me, I have never been burnt by them yet, and incase i do get burnt, its not going to hurt very much at $75.00

One time I ordered 2 of the really small 4 ch Spektrum compatible rx's.

I received 1 rx in a plastic bag and 1 empty bag, both had the item and bin location #s

They tried to say either I had it or the customs people had it, it went back and forth a few times, until I told them give me credit for the missing rx, or I will not buy from you again, and I will tell my friends on every forum I am a part of, to stop buying from you. I got my credit 2 days later.

Now HK seems to be careful with my orders, but I am sorry they got yours screwed up. I need to order some 4s 2500mah lipos soon.

A friend of mine just turned me on to LowPriceRC. They are in China like HK, but prices and shipping seem to be lower, and they carry the exact same stuff as HK for the most part. I think I'm going to give them an order or two to see how it goes, then maybe shift to them for my store inventory.

So far I have had very good service from LowPrice. I orderd some servos that went out of stock the day after I placed the order. LowPrice sent me an Email to tell me and would I accept more expensive ones. for the same price as my original order. So I got better servos at a cheaper price. I bet HK would never do that.

By issueing a credit the have insured that you have to buy from them again in order to get your mony back. They also collect interest on it until you cash it so it is an interest free loan. Pretty clever eh? Oh, and you can't use the credit towards shipping.

DANG IT! What in the heck is going on with my orders?

Sheesh... on July 8, I placed an order for a rack for my Jeep Wrangler through JC Whitney. Shown in stock, make/model verify, order placed.
I get the "Order placed" email, and verify funds have been sent.

Yesterday, after nothing for so long, I go onlne to chat with a CSR. Online person says they do not show the order and to call the 866 number.

This morning I call the 866 number only to listen to the phone ring for 30 minutes (remember, I'm in CA, my 08:00 is their 11:00). No answer. I call the order number (knowing its wrong) and get explained how he cant help me, but will transfer me (I figured that before he spoke). I get to an online person who tells me the item is backordered until September...

Geez. Thanks for that. Can I have my money back please?

You can request a refund of the money for the items not delivered. Here is the HK 'unwritten' policy.

If I place an order and for some reason after I have paid by PayPal , the item(s) are unavailable, what is the HK policy regarding the return of funds?
!1) Are the funds including shipping charges refunded through paypal?
(2) Are the funds turned into a credit?
(2A) If turned into a credit, can that credit be used to cover the cost of a future order including shipping?
(3) Is the customer given the option on whether funds are refunded or turned into a acredit?
These questions have been a hot topic on the RCG forums. An answer from you would clear up a lot of questions.

Thanks for contacting the HobbyKing Support Team.

We understand the concern. Given the situation, the following answers apply.

1) If one chooses to cancel an order which has not been shipped, he will receive a full refund which also includes the shipping costs.

As for questions 2, 2A & 3, if one chooses to cancel an order, the refund can be given in the form of bonus points or a refund to their PayPal. We usually issue bonus points first as it is faster to process and customer can use the points a few minutes after cancellation. Kindly note that the bonus points can only be used to cover the product costs and not the shipping costs. However, if a customer would prefer a refund to their PayPal account, we can simply deduct the bonus points and issue a refund instead.

I hope this clarified things. If you have any other questions, please let me know.

That kinda begs the question: there is no way in H. to make "everyone" aware of this, and heck, many will forget it, anyway.

For a policy, it's a very poor policy, and only spinning it makes it look worse.
