My fellow pilot turned his DX6i on yesterday and noticed that the LCD display was completely blank but all the controls still worked! A quick tap on the side saw it return to normal but soon after it went blank again never to return. Anyone got any ides please? Thanks Nidge. |

There are a few possibilities i can think of... though unlikely...
One, the TX was left out in the sun and overheated which can do a couple things. It can heat up the liquid crystals and cause something called “thermalization”. However from what you describe, this is not the case since you didn't say the screen was completely black. The other is that the TX was exposed to consistent directly sunlight shortly after being in a cool environment (ex: vehicle air conditioning) and this can cause condensation on the inside which is bad for electronic components... period. The more likely hypothesis however is that the wires that supply power to the LCD backlight have come loose, either by defect of manufacturing or by dropping the TX on the ground (yes, people do drop them) ![]() If I may ask a vital (and necessary) question... How much was paid for this particular Dx6i and where was it purchased from. Unfortunately there are many clones floating around and this could be the result of such an example. -John |

He did buy the TX from a good RC shop so a bogus one should be unlikely and he has owned it for about 2 years now. He did drop it about 9 months ago but has worked fine until yesterday and there is something rattling around inside so you could well be right on that one. Time to remove the back cover me thinks. Cheers for your advice Nidge. |

Had a strange thing happen today where the settings for my micro beast mysteriously changed. The ailerons were reversed and the mix for delta wing was turned on. Needless to say I for what ever reason didn't check the flight controls very well prior to flight and we crashed on launch. Any one else had the settings change?

Hi Nidge, same thing happened to me few months ago and I just sent it to Horizon hobby and they replaced it for a brand new one, I only paid the shipping cost.
