Default binding a hawksky

I just bought a dynam 2.4g hawksky. I am trying to bind the plane to the transmitter. I have a few questions. What is the proper steps for binding. What's the purpose of the protect switch and where should it be when binding.

Default binding hawksky

I might be binding it right, but there is still a problem. After I bind everything is working except the motor. The motor has a mind of its own. The motor is unpredictable or it will not work. I just tried to reverse the throttle but that did not work. Any advise is very helpful at this time.

I'm sure you've already checked, but I assume you have the throttle turned down to zero when you power up the plane? You may need to turn the trim down low too. If the throttle isn't at absolute zero when you power up, the ESC won't activate the motor circuitry. Safety feature.
