Default Ultra micro 11 inch Nutball

Hi all. Just thought I would update on my latest build, a UM electric Nutball. She's 11 inches, and uses ALL of the UM p51 guts. I started her today, and finished her today . My only concerns for the maiden tomorrow are that it has SLIGHTLY more dihedral on one side than the other, and very little control surface movement. Being a Nutball, I kinda doubt the slight difference in dihedral will affect anything too much, and I hope that I made the control surfaces big enough to make up for the lack of movement. Fingers crossed . Anyway, if you are looking to build one, and would like more specs, just ask! Inspired by:http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1201625

Thanks Skyman! I've pretty well mastered the Supercub and am pretty proficient w/ the t-28, so I'm hoping the mustang will be a success. Do you reckon that if I can handle the minis I'll be ready for the full sized planes? I got a couple successful flights out of my Wildcat, but it wasn't trimmed well the last time I flew it and I smacked straight in on takoff. I'm hoping to move up to the full-size T-28 after the minis...

XD wrong thread, but yes, the mustang should be fine. I have the full size T-28, and I LOVE her. I went from a skyfly 1 to the full size T-28, and although she went through a bit of damage, I did fine with her. I spent hours upon hours on the simulator though, and had pretty well mastered every plane on it. The minis don't fly exactly like the big ones, and you have to remember, the big ones don't just bounce back up after a nose dive into the ground like the little guys do. You can buy a high wing aileron trainer (like a cessna 182 or something) online for around 100 bucks, perhaps that might be something to consider. The issue there is that they probably wont have replacement parts, the plane wouldn't be of great quality, and your not going to get near the customer service you get at horizon. If you want to stick with horizon, I have heard nothing but good things about the parkzone stinson. It has been referred to as the high wing T-28. It has a bit larger wing, (more of a floater I would imagine) its a high winger, (allowing for good self correction) and optional flaps which would be a good idea, because it would make landing much easier. Trust me, when your learning, you want the flaps. I would say go for the stinson, and then after you get good at it, dive right in to your wild cat.

Happy flying
-Jack

UPDATE:
After adjusting the motor position, elevator trim, and the cg, I got her to fly

Extreem amounts of up elevator control, and decent rudder and down elevator control.

Although it does fly, it is very difficult to keep in the air. Mostly because the controls are so sensitive, that you will give it a bit of down elevator, and its in the ground. I should probably dumb it down a bit.

I'll keep you all posted!
