Do you mean with retractable landing gear? I don't ever recall seeing one like that. Would be great, though! I'll be watching to see if anyone knows of one like that.

as someone who flys a PBN nomad (60 size) and just aquired a 40 size pby-5 , i also find retractable landing gear are hard to locate. id when you do it is't going to be cheap.
ironically its an easy system, like the a frames on the front of an rc car.. but finding it.. |

Would it be cheaper to buy a Great Planes PBY(link in the next post)
and cut the body to include a homemade gear system. I figured out how to rig up the gear. Of course it needs a shock absorber system and water proofing. I am super inexperienced in building custom gear and modifying airframes, is this hard? Are there some tutorials or something I can look at? Would this be hard? Thanks again. P.S. the site will not let me add a photo of the gear set up or the link to the pby, So i will ad it in my next post. |

Though about it a few times. The nearest 'bits-n-pieces' I could think of to scratch build some, would be the double wishbone set up off an RC car, (with a fair bit of modification).
