Default Skyangel 50mm T45 further tests ...

The T45 if you have been following my threads is a reasonable platform to trial various ideas on. It has quite a tolerant CoG range and also flies reasonably well stock.

Today I had opportunity to trial different battery packs and see effect on trim / performance.

My T45 is set with slight nose down trim, 30gr addition to tail, 1300mAh 3S 25C pack in battery slot fwd, Stinger landing gear with nose servo ahead of battery pack.

I removed the landing gear which leaves the servo in the nose with the mount.

Flights made with 800 3S 20C, 1300 3S 25C, 1800 3S 25C.

The 800 packs need the tail weight removed, which I didn't do making the T45 twitchy. Its low power from such pack and flight needs to be care in turns, no large movements after launch till she's flying ... I think these packs will be reserved for other use now.

The 1300 packs were spot on and she flew nice with loops from level flight, high roll rate, slight dip from standing hand launch but nothing out of ordinary, she picked up speed / flight quickly.

The 1800 packs despite the extra weight over the 1300 didn't change the trim and launch was same. I was expecting to click a few clicks of up to compensate ... but no - fine.

The speed with the 800 was slow compared to what she has been video'd at. It's flyable, but in my view needs a touch more.
Speed with 1300 was only marginally less than the 1800 and was enjoyable ... really grooving along and gave good representation of a Hawk ...
The 1800 is of course the best in the 3S range ... not too heavy, good power delivery, good run time even WOT ..

So for general flying I recc'd the 1300mAh 3S 25C ..

For a $50 model ... $10 LiPo ... and my FlySky radio, I reckon a total bargain !
